Advantages: Very tasty

Disadvantages: Fattening

usually make mince pies at Christmas time but this year I have decided to buy them as I seem to get little time to bake.
I trialled the Tesco deep filled mince pies and now the Morrison's deep filled mince pies

Packaging
Christmas red box with a picture of mince pie on it. Inside red plastic tray for 6 pies. Each pie in a foil pie cake case

Price
The Morrison's mince pies have been on offer like the Tesco ones Morrison's are 85p per pack on offer £1.50- for 2 packs not sure when offer ends. That's why I tested and bought my choice ready for Christmas day

Looks
These are a nice deep pie pastry a good golden brown colour. On the lid is a pastry Christmas tree. Looks quite attractive

Presentation, preparation

I shall serve these in the same way as the Tesco ones, either on a pretty plate or a plate with a paper doyley on it. For my testing I took one straight from the packet and ate it.
I shall serve these pies both warm and cold; they are nice warmed in the oven for a few minutes or in the microwave for about a minute. Good to greet my guest with a hot cup of coffee and a hot mince pie after their 2 hour journey to my house for Christmas day. Heating freshens the mince pies.
If there are any left over after Christmas I might eat them as a pudding with custard.

Taste, texture,
The pastry texture is not quite as good as the Tesco ones not as buttery and crumbly. It's still ok nearly but not quite as good. The pie is well filled lots of filling the filling tasty slightly spicy lots of fruit; I would not be ashamed to serve these mince pies.

These pies are a big enough size that you do not need two; ok this pig will probably eat two. (Or even 3)
Now I have trialled both Tesco and Morrison's deep filled mince pies, which ones did I decide were the better and buy for Christmas?

Well the prices were similar. Looks are very similar, taste very similar too I think the Tesco ones just had the edge so I bought a couple of dozen of those.

Now whose mince pies shall I trial next ?

Summary: Nearly but not quite as good as tesco's
