... a marathon task. I got what I thought I was getting; a bowl of whole wheat flakes with bits of nuts and dried fruit in among, at least that's what I found once I had searched for the fruit. There were bits of apple, raisin, banana and coconut in there somewhere, according to the blurb on the outside of the box. There was so little that I had difficulty locating it. In retrospect it is probably just as well that there was not more because it was the fruit (I'm assuming that's what it was) caused the problem. It ...more

I have always been a fan of Kellogg's Fruit and Fibre so when I saw a similar product under the Morrison's own label, I decided to give it a try. It was a whole £1.50 cheaper than my regular brand so at £1.25 it had to be worth a try. Now, I am not the world's best breakfast eater. I know that I should eat breakfast and I can manage it if it's quick, easy and I can eat it with out too much effort. This was quick and easy but eating it was a marathon task. I do try a lot of home brand cereals as in some cases you just cannot tell much of a difference except in the huge price variations! As a Weight Watcher 'Morrisons Fruit & Fibre' isn't the best option for the calorie counter in me but, I do love its branded counterpart Kellogg's for a really tasty, wholesome breakfast or suppertime meal so figured at only £1.25 for 500 gram it was worth a shot... Packaged in a big rectangle box which in my opinion is uninspiring with its grey frontage and purple side borders, there is an illustration of a bowl of the enclosed cereal which looks packed full of the 'Whole wheat flakes with dried fruit & ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Morrisons Fruit & Fibre (Cereal): Who ate all the fruit? (581 words)

I do like some cereal, but have noticed the prices in the supermarkets is leaping up especially for the big branded products. In Morrisons last week I decided to buy a box of their own brand Fruit & Fibre which I forgot was in the cupboard until yesterday morning when I decided to try a bowl for my breakfast. I must admit it's not as good as the Kellogg's version of Fruit & Fibre, and really it's not very much cheaper so I can't see me buying this one again. The main problem is how soggy the cereal flakes go once I've added the cold milk, before pouring the milk over they are deliciously crunchy and smell very malty but within seconds of adding the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review I can taste the fibre but where is the fruit?! (953 words)

Cereal I love it! Not that I'm ever up for breakfast don't get me wrong me, no I like eating it any time of the day and the one's that are my favourite are one's with lots of dried fruits in to tickle my taste-buds and satisfy my sweet tooth. Like most people reading this I like sweet things that are bad for me but I always have fruity cereals about to try get myself to stay on a healthy path with my diet and I have to say I've always found it to work but that's because I love and adore cereal lol. It has to be said when it comes to this type of cereal I find that shops own brands actually usually fall quite flat. Either the flakes are soggy and not malty and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Morrisons Fruit & Fibre (Cereal): Healthy breakfast (241 words)

I go through phases with 2 kinds of cereal. I love crunchy nut cornflakes, or morrisons version of them. I also love fruit and fibre, although i hate plain branflakes. Morrisons fruit and fibre comes in 2 sizes, the smaller one lasts me less than a week, and the larger one nearly 2 weeks. It is a lot more expensive than the morrisons branflakes, but its worth paying the extra in my opinion. Kellogs fruit and fibre tastes exactly the same, and costs twice as much. So you get branflakes, dried fruit like banana, a few nuts, and lots of raisins. I have read other reviews that say you dont get many raisins, but I find the opposite! I always end up ...  Read the complete review
