I am eating one of these doughnuts for my breakfast as I type this review.

All supermarkets have their own brand of jam filled doughnuts but Morrisons version are different and im my opinion the best.

Most doughnuts are covered in sugar, sticky on your hands and not so good for your teeth! These have a light sprinkling of icing sugar; still not the healthiest thing I know but much better than tonnes of sugar. The icing sugar doesn't have an overpowering sweetness like sugar does so doesn't distract from the taste of the dough and jam either.

Another plus point is the jam itself, so tasty and fruity; again not too sugary. The doughnut really is full with it too, from the first to the last bite you get a mouthful of jam.
I have my doughnut warm and after 30 seconds in the microwave the jam has spilled out through the little hole in the side of it and is all over my plate too, still plenty in the doughnut though and I enjoy dipping my doughnut in the excess!

The base of the doughnut is obviously the dough, these are lovely and soft and squidgy, I used to live at the seaside and the doughnuts made fresh in front of you on the harbour were the best in the world but these come a close second.

Doughnuts are always best eaten on the day of purchase or as soon as possible, the problem being they are often sold in packs of 8 or 10 and I always succeed in eating them in 2 days! I'm only doing as i'm told on the packet.....
Morrisons solve this problem (cos obviously I hate having to eat so many!!) lol, their doughnuts are available in packs of 8 or a pack of 2 which I buy for 29p. This way we do our shop on an evening and have a doughnut each for breakfast the next day while they're still lovely and fresh.

They come in a little brown bag which has an old fashioned label on it saying 'Morrisons, the cake shop' and a cute little doodle of a slice of cake.
On the bag there is a pink sticker which informs you that the doughnuts inside are Raspberry ones, you can also buy Strawberry ones and on those the sticker is red.
I am also informed that they have been prepared for me in the store I bought them from and not shipped in frozen from elsewhere.

All in all I think 29p for a tasty treat of a breakfast for 2 is fantastic!

Summary: Tasty, fresh, jammy loveliness!

I love Morrisons' donuts! And I agree, donuts for breakfast isn't unusual.
