Tiger bread smells absolutely delicious when freshly baked and I think that Morrisons sells the freshest bread from any supermarket (thanks i_am_joy for the recommendation!). It seems to have become more and more popular recently as Morrisons regularly advertise it and for £1.00 it's a great price anyway. The bread is baked fresh in the Morrisons in store bakery and if you visit at the right time (lunchtime or first thing) you can frequently find bread that is still warm. The bread is delicious and has quite a unique smell and taste to the crust. It is not the thickest crust and I much prefer it to standard tin loafs of bread. It is nice and easy ... Originally Asda started selling tiger bread a few years ago, and recently Morrisons have begun to follow them. You will find the Tiger bread in the bread aisle, along with the other varieties of bread that Morrisons offer. So, what makes tiger bread different? It is a white loaf, normally very moist, baked with sesame oil, for an unusual, but very pleasant flavour. The bread itself tastes no different to other white bread, except for being more moist, but the crust is very flavoursome. Tiger bread is distinctive in its appearance, as it has a pattern baked on to the top of it using rice paste before baking, this often gives the appearance of ... Read the complete review

This Tiger bread can be found in the bread aisle of Morrisons and will set you back just over £1. It baked freshly on site and has a different look about it than the other breads on the shelf. For a start it isn't square like other breads; it's quite flat and has rounded edges, rather similar to the hedgehog loaf that you used to be able to buy. Secondly it has a more of a yellowish tinge to it's crust and it has lots of cracks in it due to the fact that it isn't very thick. The smell and taste of this bread is something that can't be described but it has to be one of my favourite smells in the whole wide. I guarantee that if you take one sniff of it next time ... I'm very much a bread person when the mood takes me and my favourite loaf for a number of years has been Tiger Bread, a white loaf which has been coated with sesame oil on the crust to produce stripes reminiscent of a tigers fur. When I moved house a couple of years ago I thought I'd never get to taste it again as at the time Asda were the only supermarket producing it, and my new place is a good twenty miles from the closest Asda store - a distance not even a confirmed bread lover like me could justify travelling simply for a nicer crusted loaf! A month or two ago in Morrisons however I found myself sniffing the air like some kind of demented drugs dog, ... Read the complete review

Morrisons stores have an instore bakery where many items, including this Tiger Bread, are made on the premises. The packaging is see-through with a simple sticker telling you the name of the item & the price. Those of you on a diet, or who are interested in the nutritional information about the bread will be sorely disappointed as there is no calorie information listed. Likewise there is no list of ingredients either. The first thing you'll notice is that the top of the bread look different to the majority of other loaves available. Presumably this "odd appearance" is what gives the bread it's name as it does look a bit like a tiger's ... Read the complete review
