... but I thought well at least the grand kids will eat it and perhaps even hubby as he is not so fussy but the truth is everyone found this chocolate repulsive, I would compare it to cooking chocolate but that would be unfair to most cooking chocolate as I have to be honest and say that I would not even use this for crispy cakes for a kids party. It seems to melt quickly on the tongue but not smoothly, it is almost as if it has grains of something in it and it has a very sweet unnatural chocolate taste and there is cert...more

Premium Review Morrisons value milk chocolate: Wicked On Fairy Cakes But Not So Good On My Tongue! (410 words)

As some of you know I spend all day looking after my 2 year old sister while my mum and dad are working (some gap year, huh? My mate's in Thailand!) and sometimes we do a bit of cooking. My fave thing to make is chocolate fairy cakes with chocolate topping and I always use Tesco Value chocolate to make the topping because it tastes wicked on the cakes and melts proper easy too. Yesterday though I was in Morrisons and couldn't be bothered going all the way to Tesco just for chocolate so I brought the Morrisons cheapo value chocolate that cost about 29p for 100g. It comes in a bright yellow wrapper so you can't miss it and I brought the milk chocolate but ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Good value for morrisons value! (245 words)

Morrisons Value Milk Chocolate is only 27p for 100g. The plain blue and yellow outer packaging isn't exactly attractive, but that is to be expected for a cheap, value chocolate, and is paper so can be recycled. The chocolate inside is wrapped in foil, which can be recycled too. This sets it apart from many other brands, as their packaging often can't be recycled, so it is better for the environment. If you are not put off by the packaging, you will find the actual product is actually quite tasty! Being a lot cheaper, it's obviously not as good as Cadburys, or other premium chocolates, but it is certainly value for money and a lot better than I first expected. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Morrisons value milk chocolate: Not even good enough for my 2-year old's crispie cakes! (440 words)

I like my food and I love good chocolate so what, you might think, am I doing buying and reviewing a "value" brand of chocolate? Put simply, my 2 year old loves making rice crispie cakes but, depending on his mood, isn't that good at keeping the chocolate (or anything else) in the bowl and we end up with a lot of wasted ingredients. To counter the waste I tend to have "cheap" ingredients so that I'm not too worried what happens during one of these culinary experiments. I've bought cheap chocolate in the past and, whilst I wouldn't choose it given free choice some is actually not that bad - Tesco own brand (not value) chocolate springs to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Worth the 23 pence (459 words)

After a recent shopping trip (yes, the same one as the rolo cookies, but in our defence we *are* the middle of exams!), me and my housemate decided to get some chocolate. Between us we're picky and I think the only thing everyone in our house has in common is liking milk chocolate with nothing inside it. Now when we went, all the dairy milk that was on the shelves was the kind with either caramel, nuts or turkish delight in them. So we picked up Morrisons value brand of milk chocolate. The packaging is very plain as would be expected from an own brand product. It is yellow as is most of Morrisons stuff from the decor to packaging. The front right of the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Morrisons value milk chocolate: Brilliant value for money, 100g milk choc for 32p!! Great fo ... (216 words)

Morrison's value milk chocolate is, in my opinion, a very good buy. If you're short of cash and fancy a bit of choccie then this really is a good buy. The chocolate itself is actually very nice. Obviously not as nice as Cadbury's or Galaxy chocolate but I would say it's much nicer than Nestle chocolate! For 32p for a 100g bar you cannot go wrong!! Aswell as just eating the chocolate, it's good for cooking. I make my rocky road cakes and my cornflake cakes with these and they turn out brilliant every time! However I have tried melting the chocolate and using it as a topping for cakes (i.e. my mars bar krispies recipe). The ...  Read the complete review
