The slices weren't cut very well, there were some very thick ones and some that were so thin they would break up as I was tipping them into the pan. The carrots were all proper hard as well, there was end pieces with little green stalks in and they were as hard as a raw fresh carrot! Some of the slices have got a weird woody texture as well and those bits don't taste very nice. The flavour isn't there with these carrots either, they're pr...more

I always use tinned carrots when I do cheese and potato pie because I think the softness and sweet flavour of them is better than fresh carrots. Most of the cheapo supermarket tinned carrots are fine and there's no need to pay more than about 24p a tin for them. I always keep a few different tins of canned vegetables in the cupboard for a 'lazy' meal or for when I need to prepare soemthing out of nothing. I rarrely use tinned carrots as I much prefer fresh / fresher vegetables to accompany my meals. I have used these carrots before and find that a tin is more than adequate for two adults and a few ...  Read the complete review

Despite the fact that I will happily try items from the Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's no-frills ranges, there's always been something stopping me venturing into the realms of 'Morrisons Value' - and it's not just the fact that the packaging on this range is particularly vile as I do try not to be led by such things. Last week, however, I bit the bullet and bought five of their Value items to sample and played it safe by picking items like these Sliced Carrots in Water as what can go wrong with a basic product such as this? Well, just about everything really. The carrots are hard and the texture inconsistent through the tin, the hardness is universal but I ...  Read the complete review
