I have mentioned before in previous reviews, that I am more of a savoury tooth person than sweet. When it comes to cream cakes I can go a whole year without eating one. However when it comes to Mr Kipling cakes. I just find them so utterly delicious, that I just cannot help myself from eating these delicious sweet offerings. Although I love most of Mr Kipling offerings. In this review I am going to focus on the bakewell slices variety. I have to say that I think these slices are just simply heavenly. A real indulgent treat. the packaging The bakewell slices come in a eye catching outer cardboard box package. The packaging is both bright and ... Read the complete review

I'm not a huge fan of pastry-based cakes, or jam to an extent, so I'm probably not the best person to give a review of these slices. My mum used to love these kinds of things, however, and I know she likes these slices so I decided to give them a try. Although they're not really 'my thing' as such, they are good quality and quite tasty. Bakewell Slices are produce by Mr Kipling, a prestigious and popular brand who I trust to make reliable, good quality cakes. Or, according to the adverts, 'exceedingly good cakes'! These are sold in a box of 6 and can be found in most supermarkets because they're quite a popular choice. The box has a red and orange ... Read the complete review

I am a big fan of Mr Kipling's cake, but not as keen on his prices. I usually wait until they are on offer. Recently whilst I was walking in Tesco the Bakewell Slices were on offer. Usually priced at £1.30, I think I paid about £1.00. So what does the packaging look like. Well you are greeted with a box, with a picture of a couple of Bakewell Slices on the front. Oh yes and of course Mr Kipling printed in the corner. Upon opening the pack you are greeted with a tray with 3 lots of twin packed cakes. Six in all. I find this a bit annoying really. Because I always feel I have to eat two. They are then covered in a clear plastic covering to keep them ... Read the complete review

At the weekend Dave and I were manning a stall selling Lifeboat souvenirs at our local theatre, Venue Cymru, where there was a Rotary Conference. Clearly we needed to take some snacks with us to keep us going and I decided to get a packet of Mr Kipling Bakewell Slices amongst other things. They currently cost £1.30 for a packet containing six slices and when I bought them last week they were on off at two packs for £2.30. This particular offer has now finished but the offers on Mr Kipling cakes are a regular feature of the Tesco shelves! There are a good variety of slices in this range including carrot cakes (which I also bought), lemon ... Read the complete review

I had popped into Iceland the other day for some milk, and ended up spending the obligatory £10 plus that always seems to happen when I go in for one item. One of the items I felt obliged to buy was this rather tempting looking, Mr Kipling Bakewell Slices. I say obliged because they were positioned right next to the till and there was only one box remaining..I could hardly leave the poor thing there all alone now could I? It would have been cruel! So, onto the product~ The price and packaging first- well it was actually the box that did catch my eye first as it is nice and colourful with reds and yellows, and the most scrumptious looking slices ...
