I don't buy a lot of expensive treats in the monthly shop but, generally when I do buy something I is because it is on offer and so it is a nice way to have a treat without spending a lot of money. My latest treat was these because after nipping to Asda to pick up some bits I spotted that they were only £1 per pack and as I love most forms of coffee cake I thought this would be the perfect treat for me to have! What are they? As the box states they are Mr Kipling branded cake slices. Just like a lot of the other cakes produced by this company there are 6 slices in the box of which each is just under about 3 inches in length. They are a ... Read the complete review

The day has finally come. I think that Mother Lools has actually forced upon me all of the cakes from the Mr Kipling range therefore I have arrived at the last of my Mr Kipling cake reviews. Along the way I have tasted some really good cakes and some not so good cakes. The latest Mr Kipling Cappuccino Slices unfortunately fall into the second camp, the not so good and I certainly will not be purchasing these to stock in my own cupboards. ***Packaging*** The Mr Kipling Cappuccino Slices come in a long rectangular box. The carton is recyclable & is a mixture of red, brown & white colours. The "Mr. Kipling" logo is on the front, along with the name & a picture of a pair of the Cappucino Slices. The back of the ... I like a bit of coffee cake as much as the next girl, but I couldn't eat it all the time. Likewise, these cappucino slices are nice for a quick treat but definitely not on my 'buy every week' list. As with all other Mr Kiplings slice cakes, these come packed in pairs (6 to a box) and have the classic white icing and striped - in this case brown - diagonal lines over the top. The icing is nice but doesn't really have any flavour and is a bit too sticky; though that may have just been the batch I bought. The icing was stuck to the top of the cellophane and a large amount of it was left behind which was disappointing but a known hazard with Kiplings ... Read the complete review
