I purchased these a while back and have only just got around to reviewing them.... Packaging: The cakes bars come in a tray which the packaging tells us in recyclable. The tray is indeed a film covering which is not recyclable. The front of the packaging is predominantly a pinky-purple colour with the usual Mr. Kipling logo, the product name and a picture of 2 cake bars. We're also told the RDA's for each cake bar. The back of the packaging has the usual ingredients, nutritional information, quality guarantee and the website address:- www.mrkipling.co.uk and the product is described as:- "Moist golden sponge, baked with real ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Kipling's Version Of The Choc Chip Cake (472 words)

I picked up a pack of these last week as my willpower was too weak to overcome the tempting photo on the wrapper. These Choc Chip Cake Bars are produced by Mr Kipling, a company who have become extremely popular since their product first made in onto shelves back in 1967. Known for their 'exceedingly good' bakery products, Mr Kipling are a company I trust to use quality ingredients and make tasty treats. Unlike in the photo for this product, the packaging seems to have changed to a pinky/purple design, and although they're not the most popular cakes in the range, they're available in most supermarkets. These are sold in a pack of 5, ...  Read the complete review

Because we eat healthily in our house I am allowed some nice snacks when we got shopping, and on one of our trips we came back with a 5 pack of 'Mr Kipling's Exceedingly Good Choc Chips Bars' to try as they were on offer for £1... They came in a colourful plastic outer packing that held 5 individually wrapped bars which is a great idea to keep them fresh for longer and for lunchboxes and outings, etc :) Baked by Manor bakeries, these soft little snacks are like tiny loaves with golden sponge and a smattering of choc chips in them. The maker's describes them as having 24% choc chips on them and moist golden sponge which are 'great on the ...  Read the complete review

You will be surprised to read that this isn't a review from me on Mr Kipling cakes; it's a review from Mr Lools. Since Mother Lools has insisted on feeding us cakes on every visit to her house, Mr Lools has hinted how he would like to stock our cupboards with a selection. I declined as I really can't face the prospect of many more cakes but did offer to buy him some Mr Kipling cakes to take for his packed lunch to work. This was on the promise that he would write (or help me write) a Dooyoo review about what ever product I bought him. I decided to opt for the Mr Kipling Chocolate Chip Cake bars, which I imagined would be sweet but not overly sickly and as the cake ...  Read the complete review

Having tried a few more Mr Kipling cakes recently, I discovered quite a few I hadnt realised existed until now! Out of all of them, I wittled down a few favourites. One of these options was indeed the Mr Kiplin Choc Chip cae bars. i didnt know what to expect from these, so I was looking forward to trying them! I quite liked choc chips so hopefully it would live up to my high hopes for it... Packaging: The cake bars come in a blue box, which is a very bright shade, certain to attract you in closer! When you open the box you can find five cakes. They are each individually wrapped in a blue shiny paper which matches the outer packaging. This makes them ...  Read the complete review
