Mr Kipling Mince Pies

Description: Manufacturer: Mr Kipling / Type: Cakes

Newest Review: ... whopping 9.1g fat. I had just eaten 200 more calories than a Big Mac would have given me, and 10% more fat. Hmm! Mincepies ... more

... are certainly not a healthy snack. As far as Christmas mince Pies go, I'm sad to say that Mr Kipling doesn't quite hit the spot with these. I can handle the calories and the fat if I control myself and keep the mince pies for Christmas, but they are a bit short on filling. I don't know if they actually contain less mincemeat than they have in previous years but I don't remember them being so 'empty' inside the pastry shell....more

Premium Review Mr Kipling Mince Pies: A Big Mac Is Healthier Than Three Of These (321 words)

I am something of a mince pie fan, so when I saw Mr Kipling deep filled mince pies on offer at our local shop, I decided to treat myself. I paid £1.09 for a box of six and went home feeling very pleased with myself. Once home I made myself a cuppa and settled down to each some (I say 'eat some' because I had no intention of just eating one, or two). The pies are kind of pale in colour with Christmas Tree shaped pastry cut out on top and no sugar, or icing sugar dusted over and each one is in an individual foil dish. Half way through the third one I examined the contents of the pie a bit more closely. Yes, the pies are deep but the ...  Read the complete review

Huzzah! the 1st of December has come and my self appointed rule of begin to think about Christmas has arrived. Well on certain things anyway - it is still way too early to contemplate Christmas shopping, the tree is definitely a mid December project. Ok I will grant the kids their advent calendars from the 1st, but the important thing is that I can walk around Sainsbury's and not feel grumpy and annoyed about the presence of all things festive SINCE THE END OF AUGUST! (yes that is a intentional, frustrated, shouting, caps lock rant there). I can be as festive as the next guy... well maybe not him but the next but one guy, but I refuse to even discuss the dread 'C' word ...  Read the complete review

Mr Kipling 8 Mince Pies. Its the Season to be jolly....traa lka la la la... Lovely Mince pies by Mr Kipling, and they are really lovely. Having brought a packet from Wilkos for £1.47p reduced to half price marked, getting eight for the price of six, well they are a real bargain, and i like to sample mine early to see what are the best buy for my money especially with Christmas slowly creeping up on us. I think what attracted me to this product was the lovely brightly coloured packet exceedingly merry, santas favourites, they are exceedingly good mince pies, with a deep filling of mince meat they contain 235 calories and have 18.6g ...  Read the complete review

I first saw these in Tesco back at the beginning of October and resisted temptation then to buy them as I figured it was far too early to be eating Mince Pies despite my love for them. For the past few weeks I have strolled past them and showed great self control, until today. As Halloween and Bonfire night have passed us by the next thing to look forward to is Christmas. Mince Pies and Christmas go hand in hand to me and as we are now counting down to the festive season into my basket a box or two appeared. Mr Kipling has had a bit of a revamp on their boxes this year, there is still a picture of a mince pie revealing its contents but now there's a ...  Read the complete review

Tis the season to.... eat mince pies and if you're going to eat a mince pie why not have an exceedingly merry one! Now, I generally like home made mince pies or speciality shop ones but I saw these Mr Kipling mince pies on offer the other week in Sainsburys so I thought I would give them a try. In my opinion Mr Kipling really does make exceedingly good cakes so I was pretty sure that these mince pies would be up to standard and very festive. The definition of a mince pie is given as such, "a British festive sweet pastry, traditionally consumed during the Christmas and New Year period filled with mincemeat - a preserve typically containing ...  Read the complete review
