I spotted some boxes of these in my local shop which were very cheap. That was probably down to the fact that they were short-dated, so I decided to keep on box for home and take the other two into work. Packaging: The tarts come packed in a single plastic tray with a piece of card dividing the top three tarts from those on the bottom. The tray is covered with a protective film sleeve which, in turn, comes inside a carton. The carton is a mixture of red, orange and yellow colours and has the "Mr. Kipling" logo is on the front, along with the name & a picture of a pair of some tarts, raspberries, cherries etc. The back of the carton ... The Queen of hearts, she made some tarts. However, these jam tarts are made by Mr Kipling and exceedingly good they are too. Mr Kipling has been making cakes for well over 40 years. The Mr. Kipling brand name comes from an Irish baker, Mr. Seamus Kipling who lived in London. Unfortunately though, Mr Kipling is not actually a real person. According to an article I read he was created, "to represent the exceedingly good cakes the company was producing and now encapsulates everything the brand stands for, and personifies what is good about the company - its vision, its values and insistence on quality." Jam tarts are such a tasty treat. They ... Read the complete review

I had not eaten a jam tart for years but when I saw them selling the Mr Kipling jame tarts off cheap the other day I decided to try some. The normal price for a pack of six is £1.39. The tarts were a lot smaller than I expected them to be, maybe I've grown since the last time I ate them or maybe I'm just greedy. There were three different fillings, blackcurrant, raspberry and apricot, the first problem was working out which ones were the blackcurrant and which were the raspberry as they both look identical with a dark purple filling in contrast to the yellow filling of the apricot tarts. The tarts look fairly bland, nothing to get excited about. The ... Read the complete review

I love to eat sweet things and as well as chocolate and sweets I tend to find myself eating too many cakes and pies as well. Now, I love tarts.... Don't get me wrong, I do NOT mean that kind of tart! I mean the type made of pastry with jam on top. They're a fabulous sweet treat and fun for all of the family to share so I always try to have some around the house. I love to bake and normally make my own but sometimes there just isn't enough time in the day to get everything done and I have to go and buy some. Mr Kipling's are the best cake and pie makers in the U.K so I really do trust their products and normal buy from only them, when I can afford it that is, because they ... Read the complete review

They say you should never ever go shopping when you are hungry. It is also recommended that in order not to fall for the wily enticing ways of the supermarket marketing gurus, that you should write a shopping list and stick to it. So what did I do, when I got back from a couple of days away? I headed to the local Sainsbury, not having had breakfast or lunch and with no shopping list written either on paper or in my memory banks. Big mistake. I don't buy cakes- cakes I do not buy. So why when I saw the sign proclaiming that Mr Kipling Jam Tarts were on a buy one get one free offer, I enthusiastically put two packs in my ... Read the complete review
