Advantages: tasty, chewy

Disadvantages: Not the nicest of Corners, not too healthy

Müller Corner yoghurts aren't as healthy as mainly dairy desserts, however when I came across the Healthy Balance range, I didn't hesitate to give them a try. Though, I didn't really know what to expect from them. I only hoped all was good.

When you first peel back the shiny lid from the split pot of the Berry Crunch option, the first thing you'll notice is the aroma. It's quite sugary sweet and smells mildly of raspberries. If you concentrate, you can just about detect a scent from the natural yoghurt too. Looking down, I was quite impressed with its appearance too. The yoghurt was quite pale looking, and in the smaller corner was quite a fair amount of cereal clusters and little pieces of dried pink fruit - another girly attraction! So far so good, but how would it taste?

You can eat Müller Corners in a few different ways. Normally I like to sample each section on its own first, but this time I just mixed them straight together. Often when you tip the smaller corner some of the contents can remain stuck, or often spill out too quickly and cause a mess. Thankfully though, this time the sugary little pieces slid out easily into the larger corner. Scooping up some of the mix, I shovelled it into my mouth to inspect. The yoghurt was a little bitter and quite thin too; unlike the thick and creamy vanilla-based yoghurts found in other Corners. The cereals and dried fruit were incredibly chewy and sweet to taste.

I couldn't workout exactly which berry fruits were there, but I could most definitely taste raspberry. The combination was delicious, quite unique too. However, I think it would have been a little better if the yoghurt was more thick, and the variety in fruit taste was greater. (It turns out there was in fact raspberries, and strawberries too).

So just how Healthy was this then? When I took a closer look at the nutrition, I discovered that each 150g serving contains 180 calories, 19.7g sugars and 4.2g fat. That's still not fantastic, however it's not as bad as the majority of the other Corner yoghurts. On a benefit, the yoghurt does contain 209mg of calcium - 26% of our Recommended Daily Allowance. It's also suitable for vegetarians.

*WARNING*; each serving contains wheat and milk, and may contain traces of nuts.

Especially with the rising cost of food prices now, I think it's vital that we watch how much we spend. Thankfully, this particular yoghurt will only knock you back 54p! Quite often you'll find Müller yogurts on offer too, and are currently being sold at Asda with a deal of 10 for £2.

Now you may wonder how you'll manage to eat your way through ten yogurts, but never fear! The Müller Corners have a fairly decent shelf-life, not expiring until around a fortnight after purchase! Though, they don't ever last that long in my fridge.

Although I do like to enjoy yoghurts with fruit or weetabix, the Corner yoghurt simply isn't useful for that. However, its low square shape does allow you to pop it easily into a lunchbox without bulking it out. It can also be served as a quick snack for lethargic kids or as a little pudding after meals too.

There are a few other Healthy Balance yoghurts available; Tropical, and Strawberry too. This is quite a tasty yoghurt, and worth a try, though I don't think I'll actually buy it again.
