Advantages: Delicious, strong banana taste, wonderful scent, widely available, on offer
Disadvantages: Nutrition info in tiny writing, nutrition in general
Taking up the amazing offer at Asda two weeks ago, I throw ten Crunch corners into my trolley for an absolutly amazing price of £2. Considering that a single crunch/fruit/dessert/healthy balance corner retails for 54p individually, the offer was too good to pass up and over the past few weeks, we have probably purchased about 50 corners- for only £10.
When I was little, I used to eat corners on a daily basis- wheather it was a fruit corner -a section of yogurt and another of fruit compot-, a crunch corner -a sweet yogurt with a seperate helping of cereal/chocolate- or a dessert corner -a yogurt, with an underlayer of sauce/syrup and a seperate helping of something like crumble-, I enjoyed them all! However I soon grew out of them, and never gave them a second thought.
When I came across the fantastic offer though, the first corner to jump out at me was the "Banana choco flakes". Banana flavoured yogurt with a seperate helping of chocolate covered cornflakes. This one used to be well-loved by me, and without hesitation I threw it into our trolley

The lid of the corner, is the only way to distinguish between the many corners. This particular one, was a orange-ish/yellow colour for around 3 quarters of the lid. The top right hand corner, has the illusion the foil lid is being peeled back, revealing a scrumptious looking chocolate flaked section. Crunch Corner is written in brown and red writing and underneath the flavour is stated, in this case -Banana Choco Flakes-. Then the product description is printed in small, light brownish writing, quite difficult to read.
Peeling back the foil lid, the glorious smell of banana emerges without hesitation, a very sweet smell, slightly reminding me of banana milkshake. The chocolate flakes didn't have a smell untill around half way through consuming my yogurt. The smell was to much to handle, and in I went...
I decided to sample the yogurt first. I spooned up some of the delicious looking, slightly off white yogurt. The banana scent was stronger than ever now, as it reached my lips. Once it had passed my lips, the glorius taste of banana swooshed over my tastebuds, making me crave more. The yogurt was definitly banana flavoured, and I made an opinion there and then it was my favourite Muller corner yogurt.
After the success with the yogurt, I had high hopes for the chocolate flakes in the smaller triangle. I scooped a couple onto my spoon and shovelled them into my mouth. The first thing I tasted was milk chocolate, it wasn't too strong, nor was it creamy like other makes such as Galaxy, but it was very pleasent and the texture was lovely too. Fairly crunchy and required and a bit of chewing, but very easy on the teeth.
The two compartments were glorious on their own and I only hoped that mixed together the combination would again, be sensational. Pouring the flakes into the yogurt, they sank beneath the surface of the delicious yogurt. The banana smell was still very strong, and my craving had somehow got bigger since sampling.
I took a spoonful of yogurt and flakes and once in my mouth, there was no stopping me. I continued to shovel the yogurt into my mouth and in no time at all the yogurt had been demolished.
Once I had finished the corner, I was left feeling surprisngly full. I also felt quite bloated, but I told myselt it was worth it for the gorgeous taste of the yogurt. Now, many years ago when I had consumed this yogurt at least 4 times a week, I had been totally oblivious to the conent, calorie and fat wise. However, growing up I discovered the truth and now I always check calories and fat after I have consumed. Referring to the pot for reassurance, I was pretty annoyed to see that the information was printed in tiny black writing, impossible to read. If this wasn't enough, the information was printed in 100g, useless to me as this corner was 150g.
Retiring to the good old internet for more information, I discovered that each Banana Choco Flakes corner contains a rather large, 215 calories and an even scarier, 7.7g of fat. This particular corner isn't the highest in values, however it's definitly not for daily consumption for those watching there weight or following a diet.
The corner is also unsuitable for those with allergies to milk, as obviously it does contain the liquid. The yogurt also contains Soya, Barley, Gluten and Whey powder, so if you have allergies then you may want to stay away. The corner also may contain traces of nuts.
However if you are totally free of these allergies, and enjoy the taste of banana and chocolate then this is the perfect dessert for you. Suitable for a dessert after your lunch or tea, or an amazing afternoon snack. My little brothers also enjoy crunch corners as part of there breakfast, however not a very healthy one.
As most people know, yogurt is a scrumptious topping for your breakfast cereal. Although the banana yogurt would be splendid over a bowl of weetabix, or a helping of branflakes, I do think the chocolate flakes would be a bit much and so I wouldn't reccomend these products for anything like this.
Overall, I have to admit, I think this is my favourite yogurt. The banana taste is very powerful, and is always a craving of mine. The chocolate flakes also provide a wonderful texture, and the two combinations mixed together create a taste explosion!
I would reccomend this yogurt thoroughly, though its not perfect for every day eating!
