Advantages: tasty, interesting texture, low calorie

Disadvantages: only available in packs, Aspartame, no peachiness!

Anybody sane would not get themselves hyped up when they discover a new flavour of yoghurt, but when I was browsing around on the Müller website, I was amazed to find a new and exciting option listed in their Light range; Peach and Pineapple sounded quite appetising. I couldn't wait to try it!

Unfortunately, my local supermarket didn't stock it, and after a bit of online research, I couldn't find anywhere that did either. I was most disappointed, but didn't let it bother me (wow, I must be growing up!). A little while after, I decided that it was time to cut down on my yoghurt consumption, and try to eat only those Aspartame-free, which initially wipes out all in the Müller range. I was being quite strong, having not had a Müller Light yoghurt in almost a week. However, I decided to let my Dad venture to Asda unaccompanied, and he returned with a multi-pack of Citrus Müller yoghurts, including two of the Peach and Pineapple flavours. As grateful as I am that he had remembered I wanted to sample the new flavour which was included in this pack, I felt I couldn't hold myself back for no longer. The yoghurt was in the fridge and it was calling out to me. Stuff it. One wouldn't hurt!

The pot, like the rest, had a coloured strip across the middle which homed the clearly stated nutrition information; a bright and sunny yellow shade. As I peeled off the lid, which resulted with splutters of yoghurt all over the bench (never mind - there's no use crying over spilt milk...er, yoghurt), the contents was revealed before me. The yoghurt itself was quite a pasty pale yellow colour, not vibrant in the slightest. I could clearly see quite large chunks of fruit pieces, but whether these deep yellow pieces were peach or pineapple, I was none the wiser.

After smelling the contents, which turned out to be quite a strong pineapple scent, I dived my spoon in and gave it a taste. Thankfully, it was an instant delight. The thick and creamy yoghurt went amazing with the juicy texture of the large fruit square pieces, which I can now establish were pineapple chunks. Fortunately, the taste was just as splendid as the texture. However, the intense pineapple flavour was very powering, and I failed to detect any hint of peach! Never mind, it was scrumptious all the same!

Verdict...
------------
Okay, so I caved. I had been so strong. Though this was one I was so eager to try, and decided that it was fine, an opportunity if you will. The flavour was amazing; incredibly refreshing and fruity, perfect for that summer snack! Its great texture was so pleasurable too, with an appetizing scent to match.

This is most definitely a yoghurt I am going to recommend. For those on a diet or watching their figure, it may be worth switching your other flavoured yoghurts to this (or any other in the Müller Light range), as it has a tiny 98 calories per 200g pot, and is fat free too. Though, it does contain Aspartame, which can encourage weight gain as it makes you crave sweet things and carbohydrates. If you have will-power though, there should be minimum problems!

Since the yoghurt contains quite large pieces of fruit, its not an ideal yoghurt for fussy children, as texture can be quite off-putting, or those who dislike 'bits' of any kind. However, if you do not mind it, then they provide an interesting and unique texture!

I thoroughly enjoyed the refreshing taste of the Peach and Pineapple yoghurt, despite not tasting the 'peach'. I do not intend to purchase again any time soon though, I shall continue to avoid Müller (must be strong...). Though considering a little Aspartame never harms you, it's good for a treat now and then!
