Advantages: healthy, tasty, nice size, cheap

Disadvantages: sticky and sweet

After taking advantage of the 12 for £3 offer at Asda, I've finally worked my way through all the flavours of Müller Light they have available, and have singled out which are my favourites, and which I plan to stay clear of. So where does the Strawberry Layers fit in?

***
I rummaged in the fridge for my lunchtime dessert, not having any cravings for a particular flavour. I hovered over the two layers options that were left, and opted for the Strawberry. This was originally the first Layers I had sampled, and did not know what to expect; until then I had only had the traditional flavours.

Looking at the lid, it did not look much different to the others; a simple picture of a strawberry inside the Müller heart. Unlike the others though, as I carefully peeled back the lid, sitting at the computer desk, there were no unwanted showers of yoghurt (thankfully - I cannot afford to get any more across the keyboard!). There was a little bit of yoghurt on the lid itself, but I just folded that away and popped it in the bin (I'm not a fan of the literal lid-licking process).

The yoghurt itself looked very pale and watery; not very appealing at all! I spooned up a little layer from the top and gave a taste. Was this meant to be vanilla? It tasted oddly of banana, not what I had expected at all! Never mind, it was still delicious!
I dug away at the side in order to retrieve some strawberry puree that was hidden away at the bottom. Let me tell you, this was not an easy task! When I finally did manage to pluck some up, I was not too impressed by its taste or texture at all. Yes, it had tasted of strawberry, but it was far too sweet! As for its texture, it was extremely gritty, the pieces lodging themselves in between my teeth in an irritable manner. It didn't smell very nice either; like the green ends of strawberries more than the fruit itself.

As I carried on eating, somewhat dissatisfied, it took me an awful long time before I discovered any more puree, and ended up eating almost all of the yoghurt itself before ending up with a pool of red puree sitting lonely in the bottom. I sampled this with the slight about of yoghurt that was left, but did not take too well to the combination at all! The strawberry puree was much to sticky and sickly to eat on its own, so I did not get this finished. I suppose, I could look at that in a positive light; one way to save calories!

I was not best pleased with this yoghurt, and was left feeling unhappy and displeased; not a good first impression on the Layers range!

===Health And Nutrition===
The Layers are slightly lower in calories than the fruit or smooth Light yoghurts, which can be seen as a benefit in my eyes, boosting its rating slightly.

Each 175g pot contains;
94 calories
16.8g carbohydrates
0.2g fat
0.5g fibre

Compared to a lot of other yoghurts, that is quite good!

The main ingredients include; yoghurt, water, strawberries (9%), fructose, modified maize, starch, gelatine, stabilisers (pectins), flavourings, acidity regulators (citric acid, calcium citrates), sweetener (aspartame), colours, carmines.
Contains milk and a source of Phenylalanine.

Only 9% strawberry?! Hmm...cant say I'm too shocked there, a lot of the puree was clearly sugar, and there was very little of it present anyway!

===Müller===
Müller is a company which manufacture yoghurts, first set up by Ludwig Müller in 1896. Now, the business is run by his Grandson, who makes sure that yoghurts are provided to feed the hunger of Europe!
After such a success with the dairy yoghurt products, they soon launched a Müller Rice range, which were equally loved. Later in the 80s, followed the popular Müller Corner range! From then, the family business continued to churn out new ideas and varieties of snacks and desserts, each one as delicious and appealing as the next! Müller currently provides us with 8 different snack options to choose from;
*amore
*corner
*little stars
*Müller rice
*one a day
*vitality
*Cadburys
*Müller light

Müller provides a wide variety of yoghurts and drinks to help keep the nation happy and healthy, with something to suit everybody!

===Müller Light===
Despite all their great options and snacks, Müller Light is most definitely my favourite yoghurt option, and there isn't a day that goes by now without me having one - fortunately, they are quite healthy! You cannot possibly get bored with the taste either, as they offer such a variety of flavours and experiences for you to devour!
They do the Fruity range; this included flavours like Apricot, Blueberry, and Rhubarb.
There's the Smooth range; yoghurt without 'bits'! They do flavours such as toffee, and banana and custard!
The newest edition is the Fruit Layers- a yoghurt with layers of fruit puree through the bottom! They're delicious, but not the Strawberry one!
I have not sampled all the yoghurts yet - I still have a few to go! From what I have had so far, the Rhubarb was my favourite, and I can't wait to try the Mandarin one!

===Would I Recommend?===
Müller Light yoghurts in general are extremely delicious, and highly recommended! As for the Strawberry Layers, I cannot give it a large amount of praise. Yes, it's lower in calories, which might appeal to some people as it did to me, but its poor appearance and texture are slightly off-putting, and the puree is in no way pleasant! Although, the surprising taste of the creamy yoghurt was quite nice!
This, being quite gritty, may not appeal to many either, and is certainly not one I would recommend for young children! If you like the Strawberry Corner, then you may like this, but there is no guarantee!

In all, I will recommend it if you are not a first-time buyer to Müller Light, as it is not a good product to judge the entire range on!

*****
I was not pleased with my dessert, and when I next venture to Asda to stock up on my yoghurts, I shall not be getting this one again. Do not get me wrong though, the other Layers are quite delicious, and provide an appetising snack! Unfortunately, this one did not.
