Advantages: Low calories

Disadvantages: Contains aspartame

When I was down my local Sainsburys yesterday I picked up some more Muller yogurts. Unfortunately the nice chocolate ones weren't on offer so I had to pick them up separately at 8 for £2. I scanned all the flavours and decided to get two toffee ones for my hubby and a blueberry one for myself. I was unsure of the last flavour to pick up as I was wondering if I should play it safe and go for something that I know I really like or take a chance on this one. In the end I decided to take the chance but did it pay off?? I have to say that last time I went for a limited edition one, I was very disappointed so I was slightly apprehensive.

The packaging is slightly different to all the other Muller yogurts which makes it really stand out in the crowd. The majority of the pot is back and for some absolutely bizarre reason, Muller have decided to put this yogurt in a 175g pot instead of the standard 200g. The pot contains 27% of your recommended daily calcium intake and is fat free. It only has 88 calories per pot but does contain aspartame.

A couple of nights a go, I sat down with a big bowl of mixed fruit and this yogurt. I opened the foil lid and took a sniff. It smelt quite strongly of strawberries and blackberries. I must add at this point that the last time I tried the Muller Blackberry yogurt, I couldn't decide if I liked it or not. I stirred in my spoon and noticed that there were lots of bits in the mixture which appeared to be the pips from the berries.

I took a big scoop onto my spoon and put it in my mouth. The blackberries were quite strong and as I swirled it around my mouth and I could also taste the raspberries and strawberries. The yogurt didn't have the flavour of just one berry which I think is quite a hard thing to do. I always find that one flavour is much more prominent than the others but it's not the case with this yogurt.

When I finished the pot I wasn't hungry but wished that I had eaten it with some strawberries as it would have finished them off really nicely. Still, I can do that when I next make a trip to the supermarket.

Over all I really enjoyed this yogurt and it was much more of a success than the last limited edtion that I tried. Muller have mixed together a great blend of berries and have come up trumps, it's just a shame that it won't be on the shelves for very long.

Summary: A success!

I do like knowing which product contain aspartame. Not may people seem to be aware of the dangers.
