This rice really is nice!! (Muller Rice Apple)

Advantages: Nice sized pot, Relatively Healthy

Disadvantages: Problem getting foil lid off in one go. Pricey if not on offer.

I'm a bit of a Muller fan, as I try and watch what I eat, and I know many of their products have a low fat content.

I have eaten Muller rice on many occasions but usually only buy them when they are on special offer. Their usual retail price is about 50p for a 200g pot, however Tesco have an offer of 8 for £2.00 at the moment. This equates to about 25p a pot, which in my opinion is really good value. They also have a good use by date of a few weeks (check the dates). I took the opportunity to buy 16. This might sound like a lot but we have 5 in our family and I'd be surprised if they lasted more than a few days.The two types I bought this week was apple and strawberry.

For those of you who have bought Muller rice - Apple before you will probably note that the design has changed a bit. on the lid.It now has rice a lot bigger. Also on the lid it states that there are No Artificial Colours or Preservatives. It also states in bold writing - Low Fat. There is an art to getting the lid off in one piece.

The rice itself can be eaten HOT or COLD., although I personally prefer it cold. If you do choose to heat it in the microwave you will need to carefully remove all of the foil lid - or it might cause sparking. It only needs to be heated for 70 seconds in the microwave, stiring half way through, in a 850 watt microwave. For those with different wattage microwaves you will beed to adjust accordingly.

I personally find the taste extremely nice. There is plenty of sweet apple, although on inspection of the ingredients it says it is only 5%. It seems a lot more. There is also a nice smooth texture to the rice. Ideal for young children.

It only has 220kcal per 200g pot. I would highly recommend this desert/snack.
