Some people find their guilty pleasures in a bar of chocolate, others head for the biscuit barrel. Me? I get mine from yoghurts. I am not too fussed by which yoghurt comes my way, but usually I get the most satisfaction from a serving of Muller. There's something so incredibly wonderful about those products, they're truly out of this world! I've never had a bad word to mumble about them, and I hoped with the latest options I was eager to try it would be the same!
Having tried all the current Muller Corners and Muller Lights, I turned to the options that came in 'packs'. After a successful session with the Little Stars, I came across the Muller Vitality options. I had heard great things about them, and certainly was not in any hesitation to reach forward to them. The challenge however came when I had to choose which flavours I wanted. The Vitality yoghurts come in packs of six, with three pots of two flavours. There are then three different packs to choose from! I had to make quite a difficult decision between Peach & Passion fruit and Apricot, Red Berry and Blackcurrant, Blueberry and Cherry, or the Strawberry and Raspberry. I must say, that was quite torturous, especially since the strawberry and the cherry options were not in the same pack! After a lot of pondering I decided to go for the Raspberry and Strawberry as I didn't quite fancy the Blueberry as much! So with that, off I went, gleaming, with my latest choice of yoghurt!
More often than not, yoghurts that come in packs are enclosed in a cardboard covering. This Muller option was no different! However this one was a little more fascinating! Usually when you unhinge the cardboard from being stuck together it folds right out. With this one though, when I unhooked it, only the top part came off. The bottom half was left like a little carry case. I thought this was incredibly sweet! This casing was nicely decorated too, with delicious pictures of raspberries and strawberries dotted around. The Muller logo is also visible clearly, matching attractively with the reds of the fruits, guaranteeing you a top quality product!
Taking the first pot out of the case, I sat it down for inspection. It turned out I had plucked a raspberry one. It was situated inside a little round pot,a basic white colour nicely covered in various reds and greens (would be ideal at Christmas!). I pressed on the lid slightly to get an indication of how full it was. It didn't seem like it was going to explode, at least! I slowly peeled back the corner, just enough to expose the contents. I brought the pot closer to my face and sniffed in deeply. The aroma I was knocked back with amazed me! It was so incredibly fruity, a strong raspberry sensation filling all around me. This certainly was enough to make me rip the yoghurt lid right off and peak inside! Before me was a purpley pink colour of yoghurt, quite thick looking and smooth. It looked almost too good to eat,but would it taste the same?
Spooning some of the raspberry yoghurt into my mouth, I allowed my taste buds a good few minutes before passing judgement. Finally, a decision was made. Marks out of ten for taste gave us a nine, which is amazing! There;s only ever been one or two yoghurts with full ten marks for taste, so that was quite phenomenal! It had such a cool and creamy texture, a strong and zesty like raspberry flavour!
Having thoroughly enjoyed the raspberry option, I couldn't wait to explore the wonders of the strawberry! It had a similar, shallow and wide circular pot, with the same attractive patterns on it. Again the lid was given a little tap. This one seemed to feel a little bit more full this time, which could go one of two ways - it could be a hearty portion which was quite heavy and not going to splutter, or I could be showered with yoghurt on opening. I was a little more careful this time with removing the lid, and thankfully my caution saved me from getting covered! Again, I gave the yoghurt a sniff to see what I was dealing with. This was not as fruity as the previous, a little more sweet but still with a strong strawberry aroma. It definitely lured me closer to trying!
Looking at the yoghurt in the pot, it seemed quite think, and not too pale either for a strawberry yoghurt. It was so tempting, so delicious looking, I could not wait another moment longer to try it! I shovelled a pile into my mouth and explored its flavour. Yes, as I had expected, the strawberry taste was quite sugary sweet. It's getting harder to find a fruity strawberry yoghurt now (!), but thankfully I am a fan of the sweet strawberry flavour, so it wasn't too bad! It had a nice cooling, thick and creamy texture too, an utter delight! I think it is clear to say that both raspberry and strawberry yoghurts were a delight to eat!
It's all well eating something delicious, but ifs its unhealthy then the experience is put down a little. Thankfully these yoghurts turned out to be a rare little bundle of nutrition! The information regarding the nutritional values is printed on the cardboard packaging, but in case you throw that away before checking, you can also find the details on the website at www.muller.co.uk. Each 125g pot of yoghurt contains 114 calories and 2.2g fat, as well as 16g sugars. Okay the sugars may be a little high, but the other two figures are quite enjoyable! So its not fat free, but its still quite low! They are also pre and pro biotic. This helps to top up good bacteria and control the bad ones, keeping you squeekily healthy!
Now I was going to say everything is perfect, but a perfect yoghurt not only needs to be healthy and delicious, but it needs to be quite versatile as well! Thankfully, this was was also that! It is a good size to have with weetabix, whether hot or cold either way its a winner! But I feel it would be best eaten with fruits, either similar berry fruits, or possibly banana too if you're brave enough! It can be washed and reused if you wish, perfect for arts and crafts ! It may be a slight too big to put in a lunch box but is ideal for a snack in between meals or as a healthy dessert!
Things just keep getting better and better, when I took a look at the price of these yoghurts! The pack of six costs £2.50. Now that may seem like a lot, but it works out that each yoghurt costs less than 45p, which is really quite good! They're also on offer in Tesco, at two packs for £3! That means each yoghurt is then just 25p each - an amazing price for sure! They have a good shelf life too, lasting almost a month after purchase!
Now I usually like to compare my yoghurts, and did feel that these would rank quite high! However seeing as they came in packs I didn't feel it was fair to compare them top options sold individually and thought best to go with just ones sold in packs. Even then the results were quite clear! The Weight Watchers options in the same flavours are a lot sweeter and smaller, albeit healthier. The Muller Little Stars are quite delicious, but not as filling or as healthy! These are definitely the better options for sure!
These yoghurts are absolutely amazing, well worth a try! I have yet to investigate the Vitality drinks, and the other flavours in the range are next on my list! Until then...enjoy!
