Advantages: Deliciously addictive

Disadvantages: Peppermint variety can be a little overbearing after a while

Whilst having a clear out of debris from our car today, I came across two empty bags of Aero Bubbles which had been devoured by my husband and I around a fortnight ago. As I lifted the bags from the car I was engulfed by the familiar scent of Nestle chocolate and inspired to write a review about this delicious product.

Aero Bubbles are available in two flavours, milk chocolate and mint chocolate. They are packaged in a choice of two sized bags. Small bags consist of 36g and are ideal as a little snack. Not an entirely healthy choice but a treat all the same. A bag of this size will cost around 40p (current price at Tesco).

They are also available in larger 135g re-sealable bags which retail at £1.55 for milk chocolate and £1.54 for mint chocolate at Tesco. These are the bags that my husband and I recently purchased, one bag of milk chocolate bubbles and one bag of mint chocolate bubbles.

The packaging is relatively simple and depicts the Nestle and Aero logos towards the top and a picture of the product towards the bottom. We are not told of the flavour of the product, this is indicated by the colour of the bag which is green for mint chocolate and brown for milk chocolate. At the back of the packet is a circular sticker which enables it to be re-sealed once it has been opened.

Inside each bag are little balls of chocolate which are a similar size to Nestle's Maltesers. On the outside is milk chocolate and in the centre is typical Aero bubbly, aerated chocolate. The centre is very light and melts on your tongue. These little bubbles taste delicious and after each one, your taste buds will soon be calling out for another.

I personally find that the mint variety are rather strong, being of a peppermint flavour which can sometimes be slightly overbearing if eating a large portion. The milk chocolate variety are very pleasing, however they do become a little plain after a while. My favourite therefore, despite the strong flavour, are the mint chocolate bubbles.

There are 179 calories, 10.4g of fat and 6.7g of saturated fat per ¼ bag serving the milk chocolate variety. The mint chocolate bubbles contain 186 calories, 10.6g of fat and 6.6g of saturates, again per ¼ bag serving. They are therefore not entirely healthy, though being chocolate who would expect them to be?

Aero Bubbles however are a great chocolate treat to be eaten in moderation. I will personally opt for a smaller bag when purchasing these again as although they are deliciously addictive, they are also very filling!

Summary: Deliciously addictive
