Advantages: Lovely taste

Disadvantages: VERY unhealthy

I am a huge fan of the Aero bar, and you see so many spin off and cash in bars that I was more than a tad skeptical when I saw these on the supermarket shelf recently. Nevertheless, I was faithful that the Bubbles variety would at least be serviceable chocolate, coming from Nestle, who up to this point have never failed me on the confectionery front.

Aero Bubbles are available in both regular chocolate and mint, and the bags cost about 35p each. You can also buy some heftier bags if you're after something really unhealthy, which weigh a whopping 135g and cost about £1.50. Although I have occasionally opted for the mint, I will almost always pick the milk chocolate (brown packaging for milk chocolate, obviously green for mint chocolate).

Now, about the contents - the bags contain small chocolate balls that instantly remind one of Maltesers, but of course, they're not malted - instead, the center is exactly like an Aero - light, fluffy, bubbly, and extremely delicious! Whilst not like Maltesers in this regard, the balls still dissolve agreeable on your tongue, making your tongue tingle slightly as it does so.

Which is the better of the two, anyway? I will always prefer the milk chocolate ones through and through, but a mint lover may well go the other way - even as someone not especially font of mind, I didn't find the taste too pungent or overpowering - and in fact it complemented the chocolate far better than I expected it to!

As expected, these larger bags are absolutely ram-packed with calories - an entire bag is nearly 800 calories, with over 40g of fat, and well over your daily recommended allowance of saturated fats. Still, if you're smart, you'll share these with a friend, because otherwise they are going to wreak havoc on your waistline. Or better yet, be smart and just buy the smaller packets.

Summary: Ridiculously bad for you but SO good!
