I chomped on an Aero chunky bar last week not realising that it has been around for a lot longer than I thought. Although Aero was first introduced in the North of England in 1935 as the 'new chocolate' and proved to be a very popular brand. Aero Chunky came along as far back as 1982 both as a marketing device and aimed at consumers wanting a snack on the go. It was originally a Rowntree brand now owned by Nestle. Since its initial launch the Aero chunky bar has appeared in a number of forms which include orange and cappuccino as well as the original milk chocolate. There is also a mint variety. The aero chocolate bar is about texture. It is a tasty chocolate ... Read the complete review

This chocolate bar is made by Nestle and has been around for a number of years in various formats and the chunky version was an attempt to bulk up the size of the bar and appeal to a different group of people, either way I'm in favour of anything that gives me an extra chance to enjoy what is one of my favourite chocolate bars. They have also bought out a small bite size version based on small balls of chocolate with the filling inside. It is a deliscious combination of chocolate with a mint filling with the advertising gimic that it is full of bubbles. The mint filling is a bright green colour that is almost luminous in appearence and the taste is quite ... Read the complete review

Aero is one of my favourite chocolates as a child and can come in a few flavours: the original milk chocolate, orange and mint, but mint being my favourite! You may have seen the advert for Aero where the American actor, Jason Lewis, is wearing only a towel, lounging around on the sofa and explaining how chocolate melts at 37 degrees, therefore 'increasing the pleasure'. I'm sure this has a double meaning, if you know what I mean!!! The chocolate bar is made up of chunky rectangles which are easy to break into bite size pieces. Aero is well-known for its air bubbles inside the outer milk chocolate layer which make the chocolate start melting the ... Read the complete review

There are many ways you can repackage an item to make it more appealing. Perhaps eating mint aero in the choc's original format of a choc bar shape wasn't for you, or perhaps you like little chunks you can break off to eat? Either way, Aero have, for their mint flavour, got this little gem, which incorporates the luscious chocolate filled with bubbles that aero is know for and a fresh minty flavour, all surrounded by a thin layer of milk chocolate. The packaging is foil, as you would expect a choc bar to be (not tin foil like Kit Kat used to be, but with a shiny green outer layer. It has the traditional bubbly effect of the Aero on the outside. Nestle's Aero Chunky is a variation on a normal Aero bar, where in this case, the chocolate more resembles a large bar of galaxy or Cadburys chocolate sharing bars. I've always been a huge fan of Aero chocolate. I love the way it just falls apart in your mouth, due to the bubbly texture inside. Much like the bubbles in a whisper bar, but bigger, and with better tasting chocolate too. I know this will incur me the wrath of Cadburys lovers everywhere, but I have never been that big a fan of their chocolate - it always seems to dry or chalky, especially the aftertaste, yet Nestle's Aero chocolate is smoother, and with a much better taste to ...
