I was given some After eight straws at Christmas time. I have often been given the standard after eights which originally were a Rowntrees product made first in 1962 Rowntrees were bought up by Nestle in 1988. After eight straws were first made in 2005. These straws are attractively presented in a silver coloured cardboard tube about 5.1/2 inches tall. Inside this tube there are 90g this is about 20 straws. The chocolate after eight straws are about 5 inches long .The top of the tube is removed by twisting it open, the straws look quite attractively presented in a shorter plastic tube that is inside the outer casing. They are good enough to put on the ... Read the complete review

After Eight Thin Mints (After Eights) are a confectionery product described as "mint enrobed in dark chocolate". They were created in 1962 by Rowntree & Company Limited. Since the 1988 acquisition of the United Kingdom-based company, the mints have been produced by Nestlé. According to various articles I have read, "Rich in British heritage, After Eight is known as England's finest mint." They are advertised as an after-dinner mint, hence the product's name but I like to think that it is "after eight" somewhere in the world so it's really acceptable to eat them at any time of the day!! The new After Eight straws ... Read the complete review

For a great many years now, After Eight Mints have been a firm favourite of mine. Recently a friend of mine gave me a gift of After Eight Straws. Apparantly these have been on the market and available for a few years now, but I have to admit that this was the first time I had seen them. The packaging is attractive and I was looking forward to enjoying a few of these while watching TV. The straws are made by Nestle and they come in a silver coloured tube and have pictures of the straws all the way round the box. There is a green band round the box with the name After Eight written on it. I found the tube very easy to open. It ... Read the complete review

Your average After Eights (produced by Nestle) are known as the thin dark chocolate squares with a lovely cream mint fondant in the middle. They are individually wrapped in little black "envelopes". Now it came as a surprise to me this Christmas when i received this wonderful tube of After Eight Sticks. I didn't really know what to make of them but within seconds i was of course, opening the tube. My first impression was that the packaging made them look quite expensive as it is a very strong and sturdy tube with a very simple posh looking and effective design mainly consisting of being silver in colour. The sticks of dark chocolate were ... Read the complete review

I love mint and I'm a huge fan of After Eight mints. I was bought a tube of these After Eight straws and I have to say I think they are horrible. I have since bought another tube purely because I thought I might have had a bad batch, but nope, they really do taste horrible. To me it was like eating mouth wash. I can't understand why they taste so horrible to me. The previous reviewer has said they taste like normal after eights. But to me they taste nothing like normal After Eights. Taste aside, the packaging is quite nice and I like the tube like packaging, as for Christmas you can wrap it up like a cracker. In terms of ... Read the complete review
