Advantages: Lots of chocolate

Disadvantages: Crumbly biscuit

Chocolate and biscuits, especially when they're put together is the reason I'll never be a size 8, they're just too tasty. I am always on the look out for different types of chocolate biscuit so when I came across a packet of 9 Breakaway Bars for 99p I just had to try them. I used to eat these when I was a kid but I hadn't seen them around for a few years so I thought they'd be a great treat for my husband & I.

They come in wrapped in yellow plastic which has the Breakaway logo on the front as well as a picture of one of the bars which has been unwrapped and bitten into. On the back of the packet are the ingredients and the nutritional information. The packet is very long and thin because the biscuits are all laid out next to each other inside it. Each biscuit is individually wrapped in more yellow plastic to keep them fresh, these are wrapped in similar packaging to Penguin bars, in fact they have quite a few similarities.

Breakaway bards are basically a biscuit coated in chocolate, yum, they are rectangular with a smooth base but bumpy chocolate on the top. The biscuit is rather crumbly and sweet tasting so be careful as it can make quite a mess, it is digestive biscuit so if you eat them then you will know how this tastes. The chocolate is milk chocolate and has a wonderful smooth texture which will easily melt. I think that there is quite a lot of chocolate on these compared to other similar bars which is nice as I do love chocolate.

Overall I think that these are a really nice chocolate bar and it's a shame they are not more widely available. The only thing I don't like about them is the fact that they can bit a bit sickly And therefore you won't want to eat too many but then again that's probably a good thing as it means that I won't put on too much weight. They are a chocolate biscuit so make sure you don't eat them too often as they are high in fat and sugar, not good for the waist or the teeth unfortunately, why can't somebody invent healthy chocolate?

Summary: Nice treat
