Advantages: Well rounded meal.
Disadvantages: just too tasty for its own good.
Nestle cereals are made by cerealpartners in the UK.
This is one of the two best cereals there are. The crunchyness is just that, crunchy not teeth breaking. The sweetness is also just that, sweet but not sickly.
There are a number of varieties but my definite favourite is the almond one. (Quite frankly anything with almond is ok with me).
A good source of fibre as well as wholegrain but without the extended chewing time required by some other cereals that have these characteristics!
Nestle's big thing is the green banner along the top of the box denoting 'whole grain'.
Their own description of the Almond variety really can't be bettered:
Delicious flakes coated in baby oats and topped with crunchy clusters and sliced Almonds. There is a time and a place for sharing, but this isn't it...
Ingredients are:
Cereal Grains (66.5%) (Whole Grain Oats (58.8%), Whole Grain Wheat (5.5%), Wheat Flour (1.2%), Oat Bran (0.6%), Rice Flour), Sugar, Almonds (8%), Barley Malt Extract, Partially Inverted Brown Sugar Syrup, Salt, Flavouring: Brown Sugar Flavour, Vegetable Oil, Trisodium Phosphate, Colour: Annatto
Vitamins and Minerals: Vitamin C, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), Folic Acid (Folacin), Vitamin B12, Calcium Carbonate and Iron.
So a pretty comprehensive range of goodness by any account.
Nutritional values quoted on the pack are with semi skim milk so those like me who only use skim are doing well, calorie wise!
They even tell you about how green they are:
Environmental Sustainability Position
Cereal Partners UK recognises our responsibilities to protect the environment and move towards sustainable development. We are committed to minimising our environmental impact and to conserve valuable resources.
I would just say that I feel it is misleading to show that 85% of your RDA is met in pretty well ALL the vitamins and minerals as that is per 100g and most people would have about a third of that amount as a serving.
Still an excellent tasty nutritious product that's hard to beat. Go eat.
Summary: Romans, countrymen lend me your cereal.....

- 08/06/09 This sounds delicious!
(But the danger for me is that I tend to have those massive bowls that polishes off the cereal rather quickly!!)
