Advantages: Tasty healthy wholegrain cereals :)

Disadvantages: There's no chocolate! :(

I remember thinking what a daft idea these were when they first came out...until I tasted them!

'Cheerios' made by that giant name Nestle cereals are basically little hoop shaped circles of cereal with a hole in the middle - a bit like whole grain Polos, lol!

The main selling point of these are that they are made our of whole grains which consist of rice, wheat, barley, maize and oats which make up 74.3% of the ingredients along with inverted brown sugar, etc...

There are also some vitamins in this product to make it even healthier to eat, and a 30g serving without milk is only 110 calories which is really good :)

The 375g box I am reviewing cost £1 on offer recently at out local shops, but usually cost about double that when not on special offer.

The packaging is cardboard and just shows a lot of Cheerios bouncing out of a colourful breakfast bowl to make the product look like fun...

Described as 'wholesome' and 'deliciously crunchy' by the manufacturers these are also really tasty when served with nice ice cold milk!

It is recommended that we eat three servings of wholegrain (48g) for a balanced diet and these count as one helping towards that figure but do I want to eat this sort of fibre regularly?

Well yes I do! They are crunchy and crispy and the texture is light with a lovely sweet taste that mixes well with the lighter oaty hoops that are a bit blander in flavour. I think that the darker circles have more taste to them so sometimes I separate them in the bowl into the three different colours ;-p

The Cheerios are contain vegetable oil and may contain nuts too.

They are low in fat with only 1.2g in them and a salt content of 0.4g, and ours have a best before date of June 2010.

I even eat them as a snack on their own as they are lovely and sweet dry also!

In my opinion these are a great start to the day and are even nice at super time too! Five stars for Nestle Cheerios as a healthy fibre filler for me (:

Summary: One of my favourite cereals and nice as a snack on their own ;)
