Advantages: Erm they appeal to kids, not full of fat and/or nasties
Disadvantages: Too sugary and not one bit filling for grown ups!
Loving my cereals the way I do when I saw a trial pack of these on offer for 35p a box (for a one serving portion of 30g in Sainsbury's) I had to try them out. The box is a nice bright blue with a donkey on it and some sort of pirate cartoon character on there and it actually appealed to the kid in me and I couldn't wait to try the as promised honey flavoured brekkie (according to the box) lol.
So that's the box for you really! Cardboard, squarish as usual and other information on the front of the box tells me they are Nestle Golden Nuggets and that they taste yee haa!! and that they are wholegrain guaranteed and contain 113 calories per 30g serving (without milk). Other information on the box includes ingredients and allergy advice, a full nutritional rundown and contact details for Nestle if needed are there. As I said nice enough, appealing to kids box...this is!
The Cereal Itself....
Made from a combination of wheat flour, semolina and glucose syrup (a well as quite a few other things of course) these 'nuggets' are golden yellow in colour and have a slightly rough texture to the outside of them. They are like puffs of air though and are crispy, rather sweet and go soggy if you cover them in milk and don't eat them up straight away and are all very small and irregular in size. They smell nice enough and fresh and light, I can't really say I love the flavour due to the sweetness they give but other than that they don't taste of much really and are over powered by too much sugar in my view.
Not at all filling, after eating these I still felt hungry and I as ravenous by lunchtime and found myself picking all morning. For me these are simply too sugary and not substantial enough. I can't taste honey as promised on the box just sugar and air! Boulders (as described on the box?) my a** lol.
Allergy Advice....
May contain nut traces.
