Advantages: not too sickly,
Disadvantages: -
Like everyone I am prone to having cravings for chocolate every so often but I do love a packet of crisps any day over a bar of chocolate. Although lately I haven't really eaten as much chocolate but the other day I had the weirdest craving for a Kit Kat Chunky. Being Easter and being surrounded with so many Easter eggs on offer, I came across the Kit Kat Chunky egg. This year with creators trying to save on packaging the eggs have come in smaller sizes and so have been sold for a lot cheaper which is how I came across the Nestle Kit Kat Chunky egg at Morrison's with an egg and 2 Kit Kat Chunky's for a bargain 98p!
The packaging of Kit Kat Chunky's are not really all that different from an original Kit Kat except it is not wrapped in foil or split into four different fingers. It is foil wrapper still but is one thick finger and has the Kit Kat logo on the cover and in metallic blue with white type over it the wording Chunky. Being wrapped in foil keeps it fresh and the front of the wrapper clearly states that the amount of calories per bar is 263 which is 13% of the guided daily amount.
On the back of the wrapper are contact details for Nestle in case you have any issues with your chocolate bar. There is 14.3g of fat per bar which is quite high but as a little treat every once in a while I can let myself off for feeling guilty. All ingredients are also listed so that those with allergic reactions can double check to see if the product is ok for them to eat.
The bar is like one chunkier version of a thicker Kit Kat finger with this bar the sweet chocolatey smell rises up as soon as the foil is unwrapped. I love to have my Kit Kat with a cup of tea, it is the idea of a perfect snack for me and when I don't have them often it seems the taste is much better. The Kit Kat reminds me of the taste of Smarties slightly. The bar is quite thick but when bitten into reveals many layers of wafer sandwiched together with chocolate. It doesn't feel very sickly though, the wafer makes it seem quite light.
Dipping my Kit Kat Chunky into my mug of tea makes the chocolate instantly melt and makes the taste very nice and sweet. The bar is very nice and seems like a lot more value for money than a normal Kit Kat as the four fingers seem to just go so quick especially when eating in a group of friends as someone will always want a finger of Kit Kat, at least with the Chunky there is no excuse to share and it seems visually more filling.
Kit Kat Chunky's probably one of my favourite chocolate bars for the fact that it isn't too sickly but is satisfying enough having one bar. Nestle chocolate isn't my favourite brand but Kit Kat's are classic chocolate bars, I don't know anyone who doesn't like them really so if you like Kit Kat's you will definitely love this.
They also introduced Peanut Butter Kit Chunky's which are a bit different but still taste just as good adding a bit more flavour to the original recipe.
Kit Kat Chunky's are available from all good stores like supermarkets sell them in multipacks where they are quite cheap but to buy individual ones only cost around 45p they aren't too bad. However, if you can get the Easter egg like I got it is a much better deal as two bars and an egg for 98p is saving a lot of money.
