What is it?: The standard KitKat bars are one of the nations favourite chocolate bars. The KitKat chunky is a remodelled KitKat that is approximately the size of other rival confectionary products such as Mars or Snickers. The description on the packet is simply a "Crisp wafer finger covered with thick milk chocolate". The KitKat chunky is quite a simple design, nothing too fancy or complicated, which probably adds to its popularity.

Packaging: The chocolate bar is contained within a primarily red foil packaging that is perforated at both ends for easy opening. The KitKat logo is prominent, with white text on a small blue background denoting that this is the chunky variety. Nutritional information are contained on the reverse side, with ingredients underneath a removable foil panel. The weight of the bar is 50g.

Smell: The chocolate smell is rich and smells exactly like a standard KitKat. The chocolate smell seems slightly more potent that Cadburys chocolate.

Appearance: The bar has a slightly larger base than top, but is otherwise almost rectangular in shape. The top of the bar has the KitKat logo ingrained on the chocolate which is quite a neat touch. The bar is just over 11 cm in length which is a reasonably sized portion of chocolate goodness.

Taste: I feared for my teeth when biting into the bar but was reassured when my teeth easily bit through the chocolate layer into the crispy biscuit wafer. The chocolate layer is quite thick (approximately 3-5 mm) and is immensely tasty and rich. The wafer part of the bar is quite light and crunchy and compliments the rich chocolate well. If the bar was just made of the solid KitKat chocolate I would find it too rich and sickly.

Healthy: Each bar contains 263 calories which is 13% of an adults Guideline Daily Amount (GDA). This is quite high on the calories front, so this product is recommended as an occasional treat rather than a daily snack.

Overall: An immensely tasty and rich confectionary item that is great for an occasional treat.
