Advantages: Taste a lot better than normal kit-kats
Disadvantages: Really unhealthy
I've never really been a fan of kit-kat chocolate bars in the past, i've always found their chocolate to be quite dull and tasteless in comparison to other chocolate manufacturers such as Cadburys. However, my partner returned from a trip to the petrol station recently with a Kit-Kat chunky for me. So, not to be ungrateful I ate it and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by it.
~The Product~
Kit-Kat chunky is exactly what it says on the wrapper. Its a normal kit-kat, but in a far chunkier form than normal, and although it features the same ingredients as a normal kit-kat, and is made in the same form, I don't know what it is, it just tastes soooo much nicer than a normal kit-kat.
A kit-kat chunky consists of a thick wafer finger, covered in a really thick layer of milk chocolate. The wafer is light and crispy and is complimented by the smooth, thick milk chocolate covering. The different textures of the wafer and chocolate really work well together to make this a great tasting snack.
~Price/Packaging
A 50g Kit-Kat chunky will generally set you back around 44p for a single bar, which I think is pretty good value for money in comparison to bars by Mars and Cadburys, which are normally around the 50p mark nowadays.
Each bar comes wrapped in a foil wrapper to maximise freshness. The wrapper is bright red and bears the red/white kit-kat logo across the front with a blue and white 'chunky' logo next to it.
~Nutritional Info (per bar)~
Calories - 263
Protein - 2.6g
Carbohydrate - 31.0g
Fat - 14.3g
Lets face it, the above doesn't exactly make good reading for the health conscious of you out there. In fact, its pretty bad so these bars are definitely best consumed in moderation.
~Summary~
For me, these bars are best served after a few hours in the fridge. The chilled chocolate for me gives these bars maximum taste. These bars are filling, tasty and quite cheap. A great little snack, but due to the nutritional information, you may not want to consume too many in a short space of time. Great for the occasional treat though.
Summary: A great occasional treat
