Advantages: Chunky chocolate
Disadvantages: Not as good as the original
Big Kat
Kit Kat's are one of my favourite chocolates, the four bars, the wafer, the creme. Kit Kat originals have been around sine 1935 but the Kit Kat Chunky has only been around for 10 years, launched in 1999. Even though it's not entirely the same, the Kit Kat chunky reminds me of a Yorkie Bar, thick, big and full of chocolate. The bar is called Big Kat in American which I think I like even more than Kit Kat Chunky!
The Kit Kat chunky itself is just one large finger, not four like the original Kit Kat. In fact, on their website they call the chunky more of a big thumb than four fingers! It is much the same though as one of the fingers in a regular Kit Kat. The inside houses one giant crispy wafer with layers of creme and all covered in lovely thick Nestle milk chocolate. My favourite part of the bar is actually the layer of chocolate. Firstly, it's Nestle chocolate which is always of good quality and very tasty. What I also love is that on the sides the chocolate is really quite thick and you can nibble it off with your teeth. The creme filling is lovely and sweet without being too sickly and the wafer is always nice and crisp and light.
I do like the thickness of the bar but I have to say that I do prefer the smaller original finger bars. I think the wafer is just a bit too thick and I like how with the smaller ones they break in half easier.
Each chunky bar is approximately 2.5cm wide and weighs 50g. Per bar there are 263 calories which is quite a lot in my opinion but for an occasional snack these are quite good!
