Advantages: Very tasty and nutty

Disadvantages: Some may find it too sweet

Described as a "Crisp wafer finger with a creamed peanut topping", Nestle's latest KitKat variation is a chocolate bar designed to appeal to the nation's love of peanut butter.

Before sampling one, I had heard a lot about the Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky, but I couldn't find them anywhere, and I had recieved some mixed reviews - a few friends said they were good, whilst others pointed out that they were too sickly. As I managed to locate one today in the corner shop, I thought I would decide for myself.

From supermarkets, the nutty chocolate bar retails at 49p, whilst in newsagents and petrol stations they are a little more expensive. In terms of its packaging, the product uses the familiar red and white KitKat logo, which is located on a bright yellow 'foilfresh' packet which is very easy to open.

As a big peanut butter fan, and also a big chocolate fan, on paper, myself and the the Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky should be a match made in heaven - but is it?

On first bite, the Peanut KitKat is nice and crispy due to the fact that the familiar wafer is retained from the original KitKat. The top layer of chocolate is nice and thick, and ultimately very peasant. The peanut butter layer, located just under the chocolate at the top, is soft and also tastes great. In combination, the overall flavour is sweet, but not too sickly to ruin my enjoyment. As a result, the peanutty and chunky chocolate bar makes for a tasty snack which I will definitely purchase again.
