Advantages: taste
Disadvantages: fat content!
Peanut butter is one of my favourite things. For a while I began eating it straight out of the jar, but one look at the nutritional value soon made me think this was a bad idea! Still, if you're already eating a chocolate bar, you may as well throw some peanut butter into it!
For years, the Kit Kat was a product that was OK to me, but didn't really appeal to me in a big way. Sure, I would eat one if it was given to me, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy one. Then came the release on the Kit Kat Chunky, and now they've taken it even further with the KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter.
The Kit Kat Chunky peanut butter is crème filled wafer topped with a generous layer of chocolate. On top of the wafer is a smooth layer of peanut butter. All of a sudden, these become a truly divine bar of chocolate.
There must be something about making it more compact, so you get more chocolate in each bite, and more wafer in each bite. The result is a generous helping, which is in stark contrast to the dingy feel of the old bar.
The chocolate is creamy and sweet, and the wafer is crunchy, which gives a satisfying sensation when you're biting and chewing it. Taste linked to touch results in a lovely eating experience. The peanut butter, although only a small portion, overpowers the whole thing, and not in a bad way: it's delicious. It also makes it more filling (as anything with nuts does) so it's good for that too.
Priced at around 50p, it's competitive with other chocolate bars, but is one of my first picks in the shop these days.
Summary: do it
