Advantages: So very tasty
Disadvantages: Fattening, sickly
Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky is yet another one of Nestles amazing chocolatey inventions and in my opinion is one of their best KitKats.
I first tried the Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky a few months ago (even though it was released in the UK in 2006) and have had far too many since. The Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky has also been released in Europe, Canada and Australia. My reasoning behind not buying the chocolate bar sooner was simply because I don't like peanuts or peanut butter so a peanut butter chocolate bar didn't even make it onto my radar.
Peanut butter KitKat Chunky is about an inch thick, an inch wide and about 5 inches long - it's called chunky for a reason and is considerably bigger than regular KitKats (and infact most chocolate bars). It comes in a 50g bar.
It is packaged in a foil wrapper and is easy to spot on the shelf as it is yellow and has the words 'Nestle KitKat Chunky Peanut' in big letters across the front.
On the outside of the Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky is milk chocolate. The chocolate is suprisingly thick and tastes lovely - unmistakably Nestle. Inside the bar are layers of crispy wafers (with praline inbetween) which give the bar abit of crunch to it and tastes lovely. So far what I have just described is pretty much a normal KitKat chunky, it's not until you throw the peanut butter into the mix that it comes to life. The peanut butter is a top layer inside the bar and is very thick and generous. The peanut butter is very sweet, rich, smooth and creamy - something that I didn't realise peanut butter could be.
All in all this is the perfect tasting chocolate bar and always perks me up if I'm having a bad day. And this is coming from somebody who doesn't like peanuts or peanut butter, so who knows what peanut lovers will make of this!? My guess is they too will love it. The only downside is that it is very sickly indeed, even for my sweet tooth.
The ingredients consist of sugar, cocoa butter, ground roasted peanuts, whole milk powder, wheat flour, cocoa mass, vegetable fat, whey powder, peanut flour, butterfat, soya lecithin, salt, flavourings, sodium bicarbonate, yeast and calcium sulphate. Ingredients may also contain traces of nuts and eggs. It is vegetarian but not vegan and anybody that is allergic to peanuts or any of the ingredients should obviously avoid.
Now for the sad part. Each 50g bar contains 269 calories and 15.8g of fat! Very fattening indeed but as long as you eat them sensibly I'm sure you'll be fine.
You can find the Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky from all good confectionary selling shops and can look at paying around 50p per bar.
I recommend the Peanut Butter KitKat Chunky to everybody - peanut lovers and non peanut lovers - you'll be pleasantly suprised by this nutty delight.
Summary: I'm nuts about this chocolate bar!
