Shredded Wheat Over the years I have went through a number of phases of eating breakfast cereal. In my late teens and early twenties I found it really hard to eat any breaskfast whatsoever. Nowadays I realise the importance of having a breakfast and If I had to choose I would rather do without a lunch than a breakfast. My current phase in the world of breakfast cereals is to be healthier and one of the cereals I am eating at the minute is shredded wheat. Price/availability/contents Shredded Wheat is one of the most common cereals on offer in the UK. Its widely available and sold in garages, corner shops and supermarkets. Its occasionally ... I usually don't do breakfast but have made a conscious effort to eat some form of "healthy" breakfast on a morning to set me up for the day. Shredded Wheat is a classic favourite which fits this description well. ***Packaging*** The outer packaging of Shredded Wheat is quite eye catching due to the bright yellow cardboard cereal box. Shredded Wheat is written in bright green font. 100% whole grain is written on the front of the packaging emphasising that this is a healthy cereal. Shredded Wheat is available in a number of sized boxed. 24 biscuits, 36 biscuits and 48 biscuits per pack. Inside the pack each 2 Shredded ... Read the complete review

Shredded Wheat was something I hated as a child; it was the boring and healthy option I never went for (nearly as bad as Grandad's Muesli), but these days it's a welcome treat. Shredded Wheat is 100% natural wheat, which means it has an earthy, healthy feel to it. It has some similarities to wheatabix, but the wheat is shredded into a hay-bale like formation, rather than just clumped together. This makes it a lot nicer, because it doesn't get saturated and soggy with milk, but kind of rides the surf, staying crispy and crunchy for much longer. The smell is like a farm-yard; the distinctive whiff of wheat fills your nostrils, which is not the most ... Read the complete review

Shredded Wheat is made by Nestle and has been on our shelves for yonks. It's a popular cereal, and for some reason the only one I can think of that has not been copied by other brands - if you want shredded wheat, you HAVE to buy the Nestle one as no one else makes it. Its got the familiar yellow box with the words Whole Grain posted all over it. This is because Shredded Wheat is made from 100% whole grain only - there are no other ingredients. No added sugar, salt, colourings - nothing. This makes it a great healthy, simple, nutritious way to start your day. Its recommended by health experts that we should eat three servings (equal to 48g worth) of whole grain each ... Read the complete review

When it comes to breakfast cereals I will usually go for a cheaper alternative but for some reason I can't seem to find a Shredded wheat replica. Maybe this is because they are really hard to copy or maybe there's not much call for them. What are they? They are big, plump rectangular biscuits made of 100% whole wheat. They have absolutely nothing added to the biscuits so are a really healthy biscuit and according Ian Botham, it's one of the steps you can take having and maintaining a healthy heart. Look and smell. When you rip open the paper wrapper that the Shredded Wheat are packaged in you immediately get a huge whiff of the wheat. To ... Read the complete review
