I really love spearmint Polos. Unfortunately I haven't had any for a while because I gave up sweets for Lent, but it's nearly Easter (yay)! When I first started college I would just buy lots of packets of Polos, sometimes getting through 5 a day! I usually bought them from Wilkinsons because they were only 24p each. However, one day I went in to buy my Polos and the price had risen by 1/3 to 32p! I was very shocked, and refused to buy them at such a high price. So I cut down on Polos for a while, but still bought the odd packet from the college shop (for an even more ridiculous price of 35p!). I'm not entirely sure why I love spearmint Polos so much. In my ... Read the complete review

Fans of polos may not know that you can also get them in Spearmint flavour. Yes, these sugary mints have been going since the 40s, and will currently set you back around 35p a pack. The uses of Polo range from freshening your breath to getting a bit of a sugar burst. In terms of breath, it is one of the few nice tasting breath mints out there, as many taste odd or way too strong. Anyway, I don't use them for breath, I use them because they are fun to eat! Let me explain: The texture and shape of the mint is its biggest draw (for me). The round shape with a hole in it makes it perfect for whistling through, or sucking in minty air. The writing ... I bought a pack of Spearmint Polos from the service station just outside the Midlands on Saturday as I had been on a long drive from Suffolk to Kidderminster and despite having lots of drinks my mouth felt dry and uncomfortable. I had gone in to buy normal Polos but these caught my eye as something a little different from plain minty sweets, so I got these instead and also some crisps for my hungry granddaughters who kept complaining that they never wanted to come on such a long journey again. They come in the same tube style packaging as ordinary mint Polos with the only difference being the paper casing on these is more of an aqua colour, replacing the well ... Read the complete review

I like mints, always have, but I wouldn't go out and buy them, just eat them if they are around. The other day my cousin gave me a packet of Spearmint Polo's, she had 6 packets (for some reason) and paid 0.30p for each packet from a vending machine. Polo's come in different flavours, the Spearmint variety come in a light green wrapper, with silver foil underneath protecting and preserving the polo's. The flavour is visible on the wrapper. On the wrapper is the information, ingredients and nutritional values. Per tube contains 138 calories. Polo's are small mints that are in the shape of o's, they have polo written on them and ... I cannot stand the taste of most mints. The idea of eating something and then having to wash it down with a drink of water does not appeal to me. On saying that I have no problem with mint toothpaste however the day I discover different flavours-maybe strawberry-is the day I no longer brush my teeth with the strong tasting paste! Spearmint is the only type of mint which I can handle and like to eat. Due to it not being so hot and overpowering when I have one it is perfectly acceptable when wanting fresher breath. The Polo variety is no different from any other type of spearmint, it's just that they are smaller is size and easy, for me anyway, ... Read the complete review
