Advantages: Sweet taste and good for decorating

Disadvantages: Tastes a little processed and im not sure its too good for you

I have rewritten this review about 4 times in a attempt to make it not sound sexual but im finding it quite difficult, so please forgive me if it does lol.

I dont often write reviews about food stuffs but i felt the need to write this review as this product is a new experience for me.

When doing our monthly online shopping on tescos.com my wife decided to buy some squirty cream to go with the jellies she was making. Due to me being quite a food snob i needless to say was a little skeptical.

Tip Top Squirty Cream was surprisingly cheap at tescos costing only 88p and here is the nutritional stuff:

Per 20g serving

Calories - 55
Sugars - 1.6g
Fat - 5.2g
Saturates - 3.2g
Salt - Trace

Its ingredients include Cream, Invert Sugar Syrup, Glucose, Flavourings, Thickener, Carrageenan, Propellant Gas, Nitrous Oxide

mmm sounds lovely i thought when i looked at the bottle when it arrived.

Because i had a bad opinion of this product due to the fact my parents would never let me have it when i was a kid i was reluctant to try it. But my wife dived right in shaking the bottle and squirting a big lug of the cream into her mouth and he eyes lit up with joy as all the memories of childhood parties came flooding back.

I was forced to give it a try so i took the bottle gave it a shake and squirted it into my mouth and wow i was delighted the cream had a really nice, lightly whipped texture and was sweetly flavoured not completely unlike Chantilly Cream. I could now understand why my parents would never buy it as i would have been one fat child if this was readily available in my fridge when i was young.

We made the jellies and i got to decorating them and this cream is brilliant for that, where you normally have the pain if your are decorating with home made whipped cream and piping it from a bag and making a mess this simply squirts out of the can and the nozzle is designed well and is very easy to create really nice spirals and effects. The cream is of a good consistency so the designs hold their shape well and once placed back in the fridge they will still look good hours later.

On the whole i like this cream's taste and also its flexibility for creating pretty finishes to jellies and cakes, but i think given the choice i would still opt for proper whipped cream as its just that little bit nicer and doesnt taste as processed.

I did however have a eureka moment last night when my wife came home with a blueberry muffin for me. I started eating the muffin and then i thought i bet this is nice with squirty cream so with each bit of the muffin i pulled off i squirted some cream on the top and the taste was just fantastic and i would recommend you try this.

Summary: Squirty, Sweet and a easy alternative to piping cream
