I popped into our local newsagents last week and whilst in there I noticed that they had Yorkie Honeycomb bars on offer at 40p each or three for £1. I decided to buy just one to try it as I had read some good reviews about them and thought that they sounded right up my street. They are the same size and shape as a standard Yorkie but the wrapper is gold rather than the usual blue. The bar is made by Nestle and weighs in at 62g. The O in the word Yorkie has a silhouette of a woman in it and is circled in red with a red line through it making it look like a no girls road sign and along the edge of the wrapper are the words 'Not for girls!' ... Yorkie isn't something I eat that often but I saw someone else eating one the other day and had a hankering ever since for one so was intrigued to see these unusual honeycomb variety on a bargain offer of four for a £1 at Poundland who seem to specialise in offering multi-buy deals on unusual chocolate bars. Yorkie always stands out to me because of its unusual promotional tag 'it's not for girls' which McCoys has now picked up on with their line 'Man crisps'. I am not sure quite why they go for these advertising slogans. Are they trying to isolate 50% of the population? Anyway, whilst the traditional Yorkie packaging is bright blue, this honeycomb ...
