Nestle Raisin & Biscuit Yorkie - one of the most gorgeous choccie bars ever (and I do seem to eat a lot of them!) and what I like to call a mansized club (remember them?!?) - though I do have to admit I don't get to eat them that often as they don't seem to be stocked anywhere! I sometimes used to find them in Woolworths but ho hum I guess I won't be finding any more any time soon!

Nestle Yorkie was devised in 1976 by a chap called Eric Nicoli who decided that he wanted to make a chunkier version of Cadbury's Dairy Milk bar. The name Yorkie apparantly came from Corgi Yorkie Lorries (you know, those little toy cars) and this is where their recent 'It's not for girl's' campaign came from. Interestingly enough I have learnt in my research for this review that there were special bars made for the Ministry of Defence to give to soldiers that read 'It's not for civvies!'

I'm not too much of a fan of Nestle chocolate and if I was basing my review of the taste of chocolate along I wouldn't rate it too highly but there is something oddly alluring about the chunkiness of the chocolate that makes it taste so much better. Odd, I know. I am also find a whole normal Yorkie too much just for myself, you may say that's because I'm a girl but I think it's because it's too plain boring! Through in some nice, juice raisins and crunchy biscuit pieces and hey bingo! You have an absolutely delicious chocolate bar!

Yorkie Raisin & Biscuit cost 48p for a 61g bar and mysupermarket tells me that they are available from Tescos!

Summary: It's not just for boys!

I completely agree - the chocolate isn't the greatest but when combined with biscuit and raisins it becomes the best choc bar on the market!

A shame that you can't find them anywhere these days - not even Tescos!
