Premium Review New Covent Garden Pea And Ham Soup: Gritty Texture And A Strange Smelly (331 words)

Covent Garden Soups come in cartons and they are supposed to taste just like home-made. They are a convenience food that you simply heat in the microwave. The same company makes porridge, and risotto as well and all its products are made from fresh natural ingredients with no preservatives. There is a whole range of soups available from asparagus, chicken, chilli bean and minestrone, wild mushroom and spinach, to mention but a few. This review is about the pea and ham variety. To cook this soup you open the carton, cook for 3 minutes, stir and cook for another 2 minutes in the microwave. It is pea green in colour and very thick in consistency. ...  Read the complete review

New Covent Garden Pea And Ham Soup Description: Food / Thick and smokey, with whole peas and prime-cut ham. http://www.newcoventgardenfood.com The weather outside is freezing, it is foggy, damp and makes you feel so cold. As my mother used to say, the damp gets into your bones! Now for me, when the weather is as bad as this, I want a hot and satisfying lunch that will leave me feeling warmed up and fulfilled. Enter New Covent Garden soups! I paid just £1 for a 600g carton of this soup on special offer from my local supermarket. It didn't go out of date for more than a month, so I was able to stock up and buy a ...  Read the complete review

INTRODUCTION Doesn't time fly! The clocks are going back this weekend and we all need to brace ourselves for the cold Winter months ahead. Despite the daylight hours closing in, and the mercury dropping Winter isn't all bad - well not if you like soup anyway. After trying out quite a few uninspiring soups of the canned variety, I decided to venture to an area of the Tescos where I seldom tread - the fresh soup shelves. My eye wandered to the wide and colourful range of New Covent Garden soups which are currently on special offer - two 600 g cartons for 3 pounds. This brand comes in a range of mouth appetising flavours including Plum Tomato and Basil, Smoked ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tastes like homemade...Delicious (322 words)

I'm a big fan of Covent Garden soups: they're fresh and healthy and taste like you've made them at home (if only you had the time!). I've recently discovered this one and it's now become a firm favourite. When I first saw it in the supermarket I thought it sounded a bit bland and uninspiring, but there was an offer on and I was stocking up so I thought I'd give it a go. When opening the soup to pour it in the pan, be aware that they do go a bit lumpy (if you're cooking half you sometimes end up with the watery bit/ the thick bit all in one go). The best solution is to give it a good shake before you've opened it and then a bit of a stir with a ...  Read the complete review

It is quite beyond my comprehension why I am able to review this product as I don't like tinned peas or meat in soup so what possessed me to buy this soup I have no idea. I bought the soup from Morrison's for £1 for the carton. It was on offer but has been on offer for a couple of months now. They are two for £3 at Tesco's currently. This is for a 600g carton out of the chillier cabinet They come in a wide range of flavours; Chicken mulligatawny Tomato and chunky vegetable Lentil and bacon Broccoli and stilton Butternut squash and sweet potato Wild mushroom Carrot and coriander Chicken Leek and ...  Read the complete review
