New Covent Garden Co offer a big range of soups in the chilled section of the supermarket, and you probably will have seen them take over most of the fresh soup section. I've tried a few different soups in the range now and they're generally pretty tasty. This mushroom soup is a good hearty soup to get stuck into in the winter - it's not the most delicious soup I've ever tried in my life or anything dramatic like that, but when I'm in the mood for this it hits the spot nicely and I'm not disappointed. ********** The Container ********** I find the container a slightly frustrating size, only because soup is something I tend to eat by myself for ... Covent Garden Soups are a source of easy cooking for me - bang them in a pan, turn up the heat and they're ready within 5-10 minutes. There is a massive array of flavours, from pea and ham to asparagus, to (apparently) Wild Mushroom. I love mushrooms, I'd just like to make that clear. I have a slight intolerance to them, but I'll quite happily take a tablet if it means I can include some mushroom in my life. Recently I wrote about a Covent Garden soup which my wife had bought and left in the fridge: for those who read that review, you'll be pleased to know that my wife was ok about it and just gave her the excuse to go out and buy some more, stopping off at various clothes shops on the way, spending my hard earned cash. That'll teach me a lesson! Last night she cooked dinner, and presented me with another bowl of soup. This one was the wild Mushroom flavour. In my bowl was a mirky brown colour liquid which contained small grey/brown flecks, these turned out to be small pieces of mushroom.
