Now I normally have the cinnamon version of these, but there is a place in my heart for the plain ones too, so let me tell you about them! Coming in at just 2% fat and 10% sugar, they are a surprisingly healthy product considering how sweet and enjoyable they are to eat. They are ideal toasted, and challenge the standard bread toasted (at 5% fat and 7% sugar) as a healthy alternative. A bagel is (consults wikipedia): a bread product that is part boiled before baking. These ones are flavoured with cinnamon and raisins. Basically, they look like doughnut shaped fruit buns, but taste even better. The texture is interesting - a glaxed outer ... New York Bakery Bagels are my favourite brand by far and a packet of 5 is available from £1.13 from Tesco or www.tesco.co.uk and these are packaged in a plastic bag with a neck seal tab and this means that you can undo the bag, take out just one or two bagels & then reseal them for freshness. These dough is produced, simmered in boiling water & then the bagels are stonebaked and they take on the most fantastic flavour & appearance. The outside of this particular bagel is glazed and a lovely light brown colour. These bagels can be toasted or eaten as they come, I generally toast these and I love a wide variety of toppings on them. Cut ... Read the complete review

Don't ask me how but the food fad that is bagels had previously managed to pass me by. I'm usually the first to try things out if they start appearing in the shops but I hadn't tried bagels until recently. The reason for this is the fact they are made with white flour, I don't eat much that contains white flour and prefer wholewheat items but this weekend I finally decided to give them a try. New York Bagels currently sell for £1.13 for a pack of 5 from Tescos, they also stock the cinnamon and raisin version but as I had never tried them I decided to stick to the plain ones. Bagels are a kind of bread, shaped like a doughnut with a hole in the ... Read the complete review

Every time I watch Friends, and they talk about the "Naked Bagel Game", it always occured to me that I had never actualy had a bagel before! Okay, so such a conversation would usually put a person off eating bagels, but it simply made me want to try them all the more! Eventually I decided it was time to experience the holed bread, so off I went to find one. I came across the New York bagels, and decided they were the ones! Packaging: The New York bagels come in a little bag, similar to the packaging bread is found in, with the little tag at the top for expirey and keeping it sealed. On the front there is a picture of the statue of liberty, with ... Read the complete review

There are 7 different flavours of New York Bagels, but currently only 3 on sale at my local Asda, I'm not sure about other supermarkets, flavours may vary depending on where you shop.
