Nobbly Bobbly's are a sophisticated after dinner treat, subtle in flavour, stylish and understated in their appearance....ok so I've made that up, Nobbly Bobbly's are chocolate ice lollies covered in hundreds and thousands, their messy, they look very garish and yet they are utterly gorgeous.

I bought some recently on a whim as they were on special offer with a box of 4 costing 99p in Sainsbury's. The offer is only for a limited period but is well worth checking out as the weather gets warmer.

The lollies, made by Nestle are packaged in a bright pink box and covered in plastic wrapping, make sure you get them home quickly in the hot weather, ours started melting and lollies from one of the boxes were seriously misshapen due to this.

They look very nice if you are 4 years old, covered in hundreds and thousands, you have the variety of chocolate, ice cream and crunchy hundreds and thousands, they are really a kids ice lolly and that is what appealed to me, sometimes you want a sophisticated adult dessert and sometimes you just want a messy ice lolly that reminds you of childhood.

The flavour is lovely, the chocolate does taste manufactured, the hundreds and thousands are there just to give the lolly a subtle contrast and overall it has a fun and inoffensive flavour.

They really are nothing special and you would only buy these if you have kids, if you remember them from childhood or if you are attracted by the appeal of the pink box or the hundreds and thousands, but it is appealing for these reasons.

The lollies are currently great value, they aren't filling for an adult, but for kids they are a real treat and at 99p for four they are currently really great value for money as well.
