For me this works well, as the price and amount (500g) is similar to that of multipacks or a few seperate yoghurts, yet the flavour of this suits me well. The taste of this flavour is quite fresh and distinctive. It is also quite light and thick at the same time, which makes it refreshing at any time, after dinner or for breakfast. There are quite a few pieces of fruit within the yoghurt also, which makes it a bit more int...more

This is a large pot of Onken Yoghurt that is flavoured with Mango, Papaya and Passion Fruit. It is suitable for vegetarians. I discovered this pot a year or so ago, having never seen it before, but drawn to it by the flavours which seemed interesting and quite tropical. First of all I will give you a little background behind my buying decision. Every morning (except Saturday mornings) I have cereal, well usually muesli or sometimes fruit and fibre along with a pot of yogurt. Healthy huh! Until just two weeks ago we didn't have a car and where we live it is not so easy to get to a supermarket so we have been buying our shopping from Tesco over the Internet. I was happy with their Tesco own low fat toffee yogurts, in fact I really liked them! When we got the car it made more sense to go to our local Asda and do the shopping ourselves (or should that be myself!) The first week I bought their low fat toffee yogurts, they were ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Onken Fruit Biopot: 100% Yummy (406 words)

In an attempt to try and make me eat breakfast my mum has recently taken to buying the large Onken Fruit Biopots as part of her shopping. So in order to keep her happy I've been eating them. Not that this is a bad thing, the yoghurt itself is reasonably healthy, quite filling and definitely tasty. The flavour my mum has recently been purchasing is the strawberry flavour, maybe it's on offer or maybe she just knows I love strawberry yoghurt. Anyway the yoghurt in question comes in a 500g pink carton (fitting in with the strawberry theme) with a plastic lid, making it easy to reseal and store. An added bonus being that both pot and lid are recyclable. I've ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review It tastes too good to be made out of Dachshunds! Onken Fruit ... (757 words)

Yoghurt plays a fairly large part in our family's diet. Having tried dozens of different brands and flavours, the current favourite is Dr Oetker, Onken Fruit Biopot. I haven't got a clue what 'Onken' means but I do know that Dr Oetker was a German pharmacist who first traded in baking powder! The firm passed to his son-in-law, another doctor of something and the firm flourished. This all happened from 1908 onwards. Today it is a huge concern providing many baking products and, of course, yoghurts. "Tell us about the blooming yoghurt!" I hear you mutter. ~~~The yoghurt.~~~ Quite simply the biopot fruit yoghurt tastes very ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Onken Fruit Biopot: perfect fruity yoghurt (214 words)

The Biopot I buy the most is the strawberry variety, but Onken also sell 8 other flavours; mango papaya & passion fruit, raspberry, rhubarb & vanilla, cherry, fat free strawberry, vanilla, peach & passion fruit, and natural. Onken also have wholegrain, greek style, and natural ranges. The fruit variety is a medium thick creamy yoghurt with fruity bits in it. The Onken site says that the creaminess is got from using live bio-cultures (presumably why they called it BIOpot). The yoghurt comes in 500g pots which are plastic and have foil peel back tops as well as a plastic lid which can be taken off and put back on as many times as you need. This is ...  Read the complete review
