Other Sorbets and Ice CreamsNewest Review: ... However you can make loads of flavours out of any fruits you like but you've got to taste the balance of sugar before freezing it as different fruits contain different totals of natural sugars so you may find some fruits are sweeter than others and may affect how much sugar you have to put in it. Here are a few proportions of fruit to sugar to aid you while preparing sorbet, taken from my Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream & Dessert Book (Can be bought from Amazon for around 6 pounds) Bananas No added Sugar Apples 7 to 1 Strawberries 4 to 1 Peaches 4 to 1 Plums 4 to 1 Pineapple 4 to 1 Apricots 3 to 1 Blackberries 3 to 1 Che... more |

Sorbets are fantastic alternatives to ice cream. They're healthier and more refreshing to eat I find and they really are quite easy to prepare and make. Of course you can buy them in supermarkets, but I personally prefer to make homemade ones as first of all, it's cheaper, secondly, I may as well make use of my ice cream maker, and last of all, you'll know exactly what you put in it! Sorbets usually consist of pureed fruits, sugar, water, lemon juices and glucose syrup. You can of course use store bought fruit juice instead of pureed fruits, but makes it a bit too icy and I find that mashing your own fruits gives the sorbet more texture and gives you a genuine fruit ... Oreo was always my favorite cookie. Nothing beats it hands down. Get some milk, get some Oreos, and you're set for your adventure. So when I was walking down the isle one day and saw that the world of Oreos was having an affair with vanilla ice cream, my favorite flavor, I knew that up until now, my taste buds had not lived. No... they had been training for this very day. Picking up that holy box I placed it on top of my cart and beelined my way to the nearest checkout. I think I may have pushed an elderly woman out of the way, and she might have cursed violently, all I could remember was the icy mist lofting out of my Oreo blast. Getting home I ... Tesco Lemon Sorbet 500ml. I originally bought this sorbet because I like the Tesco range of food, it tends to be cheaper than the name brands and generally at the same quality. I had wanted to buy the Mango flavour but it appears that they stopped selling that last year which is a shame as it was delicious. However when I tried this sorbet, I wasn't disappointed. It has a very nice refreshing lemon flavour, it's quite strong and sour which I liked seeing as I enjoy eating lemons, for those of you who don't like strong lemon this may be one to avoid. It does contain 24% concentrated lemon juice, very strong! The taste will last for a few minutes after you've eaten ... Read the complete review

Co-op Tiramisu ice cream 500ml. This is the most gorgeous ice cream EVER. Not being ever so fond of ice creams in general this one caught my eye followed swiftly by my tastebuds!
Keeping it away from the rest of the family has been a real challenge though - especially the 6 year old daughter strangely.
Described as rich dairy ice cream with Colombian coffee and sponge pieces, finished with a chocolate and marsala swirl. My description would be smooth, senuous, pure indulgence in a tub!

For those of you out there that love Sorbet and Icecream you really must try this one. Bought from Lidl supermarket on Friday night. Dutifully put into the freezer when I got home thinking that will be a tasty treat when Saturday night comes around, and would you believe it we forgot about it. hhhhh Sunday however was another story!! Beautiful hot day just right for a beautiful cold fruity something. Yes I mean't the icecream, (mucky minds). So I went to the freezer and dragged two Ices out gave one very grudgingly ...
