*Please be gentle with me it?s my first food related review* *This review is for 'Walls Solero Exotic Sorbet With Vanilla Ice cream'* It had been a long, cold, wet and miserable day; I had a ton of house work to do, kids to feed and care for and the horrible prospect of nipping up to Tesco to buy our daily bread (amen). As I gaze out the wet and battered window, while my nostril breath the pleasant fumes of my purple one (Fairy), my face dropped. It was clear to me that what started off to be an unsure day was rapidly turning in to a wet, windy, horrid day, but no, I couldn't put it off any longer, no ifs, buts or maybes I had to go out and get wet (I wouldn't mind if it was that kind of wet, sadly it was to be the cold kind and not the hot and steamy kind :o(, oh well, there's always tonight Hun, nudge, nudge, wink, wink) Eventually I prised my ever expanding ass from the computer and dragged myself, the tandem and our wee Willy winkie and winkette, up to Tesco and do what I do best (No not that Hun, I like it better when you do it to me!) spend. Casually strolling the aisles my in built BOGOF beacon homed in on some refreshingly, fruity looking Walls Solero ice cream bars, perfect for a spot of the munchies after a social...... Uh .......Hmm ........never mind (I will leave that one to your imagination). Well we finally get back after bumping in to Mrs Bloggs an ex friend that has lips like a blow up doll, (bet she gives a wicked B......... guys ....... sorry for the rant, went a bit off topic then). Here I am at home, un-packing our shopping, leaving a trail of puddles on the floor as I shove and stuff our food products in everything imaginable with a door on it (no not the bedroom either Mr Charlie Chuckles, we know how food is a top notch way to cop your lot, clean your mind, I'm a family girl), my eyes roam in the direction of the frozen goodies, out with the Birds Eye frozen peas, skip p
ast the Tesco cheap chips and head straight down to the two boxes of Walls Solero. As I grasp the two stiff, hard boxes of ice cream loveliness, my mind started to go bananas just at the thought of mounting my puckered up lips around, oh the very thought of a sharp but not bitter taste down melting down my throat. Unfortunately it's a bit hard to indulge in the art of ice-cream sucking with the little ones around, so into the freezer they went, positioned nicely at the front, ensuring maximum ease should we feel the need to raid the freezer with a bad case of the munchies. As the evening arrives, the kids tucked safely in bed and an attack of the munchies gets the better of us .......... I think it was almost a race to see who could raid the freezer first (I won). I couldn't wait to remove the wrapper and do a bit of my own tongue and lip wrapping myself. Anxiously I rip open the box, and remove two luscious lollies, I was only seconds away from a mouth watering, lip tingling and toe curling sensation. From the moment I ripped that wrapper off I was greeted with the fruity smell that filled my nostrils with delight, I tried to contain myself but it was no use, my juices started to flow as I dribbled (from my mouth I may add) with anticipation. Then it happened, I couldn't resist any longer, I had to slide my moist lips up and down to the base of my lolly and what a pleasurable experience it was. As my mouth slid down the outer shell of exotic flavoured soft ice, I come over all funny, my lips started to tingle and a shiver worked its way around my body as the shear taste of exotic fruits (pineapple, mango, passion fruit and peach) overwhelmed me, causing me to lick and suck frantically. The concoctions of fruits are perfect, with each fruit complimenting the others so well and so balanced a perfect combination if you like. I think Walls have done themselves proud with this one, considering you have four highly flavoured frui
ts, you expect at least one to be the dominating flavour (I like a bit of domination sometimes but not where food is concerned) but no, all the flavours jump out at you, but don't leave you feeling a bite of bitterness that you would expect. Perhaps that's why I get a weird sensation in my body every time I get a mouthful of a Walls Solero Exotic. Licking and sucking the final traces of the soft ice that surrounds the ice cream, I finally get to the interesting bit, the ice cream and not no ordinary ice cream either (ok it is just a bit different to their other products). The ice cream is lovely, so damn lovely that I could easily cover hubby in it and lick to my hearts content. While some ice cream filled lollies tend to be a little too hard (you know the type that gives you frostbite just at the thought of eating it), this one is just right, it's vanilla (which I love), it's soft, fruity, and creamy. If you imagine a creamy vanilla ice cream, with swirls and swirls of exotic fruits flavoured sorbet, that's what you will find the moment you get past the coating and stumble across an ice cream that is out of this world. I have found these particular ice creams to be perfect for hot summer days as they are so refreshing, so much so that one of these and you wouldn't need a drink to cool you down or get your mouth watering. Unfortunately it does have a draw back and it's the only one I have found, it doesn't last as long as I would like it to. You can purchase Walls Solero Exotic in most super markets, corner shops, filling stations and newsagents. They come in either a box of 3 for around £1.99 or as a single bar, probably costing around a pound or slightly more. When we buy ours we normally wait until they are on a special buy one get one free offer and have twice as much for the cost of one pack. Should you require any direct help from Walls themselves you can contact them on: Walls i
