My review in on Patak Curry Sauces is specifically on their ready to use Korma Sauce. It comes in a 540g sized jar filled with the tasty creamy coconuty sauce. The sauce is ready to use. You just brown off some diced chicken in a large pan with a little oil (in about 5 minutes), then add the sauce and simmer at a low - medium heat for 15 minutes. Then just add it to some rice and enjoy. If you don't like chicken you can replace it with prawns or vegetables or lamb (but the jar says you have to simmer for 30 minutes when using lamb). The sauce is very rich and creamy, plus it is smooth yet textured at the same time. The only ... Read the complete review

Yes, at the grand old age of 28, Andycharger has ventured into the world of Indian cuisine and tried Curry. Thanks to "the wife", Saturday evening was the time at which I took my first tentative steps towards eating the firey foods of the East. I have been told Home made curry is something of a masterpiece when cooked with Patak's sauces so I was prepared to let her don the chefs hat and get down to it. How pleased I was to try this. In fact, it was so good that we had another on Sunday to use up the leftovers! So what makes it so good? Why is it so flavoursome and how does it make you feel? Firstly, let me tell you ... This review is for Pataks Jalfrezi sauce Rather than getting a takeaway or going out for a meal we tend to do a lot of home cooking in the Rooster household. Chicken curry is probably one of my favourite meals, and because im a bit of a wimp when it comes to overly hot food we have recently been experimenting with different curry sauces to see which brand would suit us best. Not being a curry expert whatsoever and being rather in the dark concerning the different varities of curry it was with trepidation that we stumbled across a jar of "Pataks Original Jalfrezi" sauce on a recent trip to Aldi. At only 90p for a 540g jar and ... Read the complete review

This review is for Patak's Balti sauce only as I have not tried the other flavours. I wouldn't say curry was one of my favourite meals but I do like to partake every now and again. My main problem is that I'm a very fussy eater so if I don't like one of the ingredients I won't eat the meal. Sadly for me, two of the ingredients I detest the most is an overload of garlic and onions that are too chunky. As you can imagine, this rules out quite a lot of curry dishes for me! Himself however, does like a good curry in all its forms so I have been making my own at home using the one and only curry-from-a-jar that I actually like: Lloyd Grossmans Bhuna ... For the purposes of this review I am writing with regard to Pataks mild korma sauce This currently costs £1.65 for 500ml at Tesco but is regularly featured at either half price or on one of their buy one get one free offers. It comes in a glass jar with a screw top lid and is packed to the brim with sauce. A little info As with most korma sauces this is not great for slimmers and there are a whopping 20g of fat and 12.5g of carbs for a 1/4 of a jar. It contains dessicated coconot along side coconut cream to give it the disinctive korma taste alongside, amongst other things, spices, lemon juice, ginger , garlic and coriander. This dish ...
