I am a big fan of curries, especially Korma, and when I became a student I started by using the pre-made jars of sauces. However, this quickly got quite expensive and so I went looking for another alternative. I tried making curry from scratch, but I'd rarely get the right flavour from the herbs and spices, then a friend told me about Pataks curry pastes and I've not looked back since. Pataks curry pastes come in a 290g jar and usually cost less than £2. I've found that I can get eight reasonably large sized portions of curry out of each jar, by following the recipes that are on the label, which makes these great value for money. I have always enjoyed curry and for many years I have made currys using a ready made sauce. I guess as I have got older and more health conscious I have started making my own and frequently use this curry paste as a base for my recipes. The jar holds 290 grams of paste which is of thick consistency and mildy spiced, predominatntly with korma and coriander. The jar itself is of nice design with the familiar Pataks look. This paste has a great flavour, mild yet still undeniably curry flavoured. Anyone who has been paying attention to my reviews lately will notice that I've started reviewing a lot more food than I ever did, and that I've reviewed more than a couple of things that I've purchased at Asda.
