These have been reviewed on here a lot lately so I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and earn fifty pence at the same time. If I told you that Poppets were a circular ball of toffee wrapped in a coating of milk chocolate, I don't suppose this would sounds particularly exciting. They are very similar to the toffee bits that you would find in a bag of Revels and to be honest they aren't actually anything exciting at all. The chocolate isn't outstanding at all and although the toffee is nice and creamy, I would much prefer a Werthers. The Poppets are rather sweet and when you bite into them they do of course stick to your teeth which is no good ... Read the complete review

I had a distinct feeling that Paynes Poppets had been on the shelves for a good number of years and I was right, they were first launched in 1937. Well, light years ago when the Other Half used to take me to the pictures ( now known as the cinema!) we used to buy these from the usherette who used to go around the cinema selling sweets and ice cream during the interval. So to cut to the chase, I was watching a DVD and carefully admiring the latest Dyson vacuum cleaner on the Internet when the Other Half burst through the door with a look of glee on his face. At first I thought his six numbers had come up on a triple roll-over but knowing his love of ... Read the complete review

Poppets have been around for ever! Or certainly for as long as I can remember........made by Fox's, the toffees which are covered in milk choclate, are presented in a small red box. The pictures on the box vary from box to box, and are reminiscent of times gone by - examples would include the NatWest piggy banks and the Rubik's cube - definitely a cheeky reminder that these sweets have been around. For me the box is part of the fun - no ripping of bags and spilling of sweets over the sofa.......the box has a little tab at the top from which you can shake out the sweets one by one (or in my greedy case, two by two!). As soon as you open the box ... Read the complete review

Toffee Poppets have been around for ages, and they are one of my favourite sweets. Anytime that I am in the shops and I walk past them I can't resist something shouts out to me and I have to buy them. -----History----- Poppets were the great invention of the company called Paynes which is now part if the Fox Company and they were first launched in 1937, that's 71 years! Paynes Poppets cartons are available in four flavours, Mint, Toffee, Raisin and Orange and 200g Mint & Toffee bags. -----So what are they----- Poppets are small bite sized mouthfuls of chocolate coated toffee. That comes in a packet with a few different ... Read the complete review

What are they? In my opinion yummy! Lol. Basically toffee poppets are little balls of chewy toffee covered in milk chocolate. They come in little cardboard boxes with about 50g of the little balls, which are about ¾ the size of a malteser. Poppets come in 3 flavours, which are the toffee, which I am reviewing, dark chocolate and mint, which come in a green packet, and raisin, which come in a purple packet. I can recommend the mint ones highly! They come in multi packs of 4 or are sold singly. Are they any good? I really like these and although it's not the best quality chocolate covering the toffee, the ... Read the complete review
