Advantages: Delicious, Great Chocolate Flavours, Texture, Filling, Cheap
Disadvantages: Calories
The McVities Penguin bar is a delicious biscuit bar covered in milk chocolate with chocolate cream in the centre. It tastes out of this world and is a delicious, addicting snack, which will fill your tummy. You can buy them in packets of 9 or 18 at £1.17 or £2.24 respectively. That works out at 12.4p per 24g bar if you buy the pack of 18, which isn't bad at all.
They should be stored in a cool cupboard or even the fridge if they can fit as they seem to melt pretty easily in any heat, so when you open them, they are all messy. The large packets have a picture of a penguin bending over across the front, which is blue, yellow and white. There is a number to show the number of bars in that packet as well as the McVities logo above.
Inside the large packet are individually wrapped Penguin bars. They are wrapped within plastic packets and they have a picture of a penguin on the front. On the back, they have a joke above the flap or a question, and when you lift up the flap, you can see the answer. It's a great little thing that is characteristic for Penguin bars although you sometimes get the same joke or interesting fact twice.
Inside are the penguin bars. They are coated in brown milk chocolate. Inside is chocolate cream surrounded by two chocolate biscuits. The biscuits are quite soft and not too crunchy, which gives a lovely flavour and texture whilst eating them. They have a mild chocolate flavour as its milk chocolate, but a very creamy texture it built up in your mouth once you start chewing them. The flavour is delicious and they make a very filling and substantial snack. They are ideal for work or school as they can be taken with as part of a packed lunch. I'd highly recommend them, as they are pretty unique and delicious too.
