Advantages: light and tasty

Disadvantages: have to eat less if your dieting

Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light
So your looking for a tasty snack, well look no further. This is the best cream cheese product I have come across and it has a lot less calories than the original Philadelphia, which is quite high in calorie intake and that's a dangerous thing if your dieting and love the taste.
The Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light however, is a nice treat without the guilt.
Philadelphia cream cheese has 8.2 grams of fat and 86 Calories for a 30g serving. Which is 1/3 less fat than other cream cheeses.
Philadelphia contains 5.5 grams of fat and 64 calories per 30g serving.
So if your dieting this can really help as sometimes it's hard to stick to the diet as it's the snacks I always miss, so with Philadelphia you need not miss out as this will spread nice and thin onto your rivita's, for that crunchy nibble when your watching the television instead of the bar of chocolate which is going to make you add more weight.

Philadelphia is gluten free and the milk used is pasteurised.
Cream cheese is an uncured cheese made from pasteurised cows' milk. It contains cream, milk, salt and vegetable gum.
Cream cheese should not be used more than 10 days after the package has been opened. So make sure you keep it in the fridge and dispose of before the ten days is up, mind you if you love this stuff like I do it doesn't get the chance to stay in the fridge for long, usually three days at the most then it's gone.
Never freeze Philadelphia Cream Cheese as it breaks down the structure of the cheese However both baked and chilled cheesecakes made with this can be frozen.
Now that's the boring information over with lets get to the taste.
Mmmmm I love it, this is a light white creamy consistency which spreads easily onto bread, toast, rivet's, biscuits and rice cakes.
The taste is a creamy luxurious enjoyable one, a smooth cream cheese which can be eaten as a snack, in mashed potatoes for that extra creamy taste and in jacket potatoes
It's taste is one that will have you reaching for more, as if your like me and love to nibble just one biscuit with this on is not enough.

You can buy Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light at all supermarkets, some will have it on offer at certain times and this is a good time to buy one get one free.
It is usually found in the fridges and comes in a little tub which is 200g
You are looking at paying around £1.28p this depends which supermarket you go to as some have price wars and it will vary.
The little tubs have a foil lid which peels back for freshness and there is a plastic lid on top of the foil one once you have opened it, so that it doesn't dry out in the fridge.
Most Philadelphia cheese products have the familiar silver packaging.
There has been lots of advertisements recently on this product, you've probably seen them on the television advertising, the mini's, the snack which has a little finger of bread stick with it, the one's in the tubs and of course the splendips, which I'm not sure if they are extra light or not.

There are lots of thing you can do with your Kraft Philadelphia Extra Light and here are a few recipes to get your mouth watering and running to the kitchen to grab some if you have any.
CHEESECAKE
--------------

Biscuit Base
-----------------
1¼ cup biscuit crumbs
80g butter, melted
Filling
-----------
2 x 250g Philadelphia Cream Cheese ¾ cup sugar 3 tsp gelatine, dissolved in ¼ cup water 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 cup cream, lightly whipped

Method
------------
Mix the biscuit crumbs and butter. Press into a buttered and lined 22cm spring form pan. Chill.
Beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Fold in the gelatine mixture, lemon juice and the cream.
Pour into prepared crust and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until set.
Easy .....Enjoy.

------------------------------------------------- ------------- -----------------------------------------
RASPBERRY KISSES
----------------------------
3 eggs
½ cup caster sugar
1 cup flour, sifted
25g butter, melted
125g Philadelphia Cream Cheese
½ cup cream, whipped
½ teaspoon vanilla essence
½ cup raspberry jam

Method
------------
Beat the eggs and sugar for 6-8 minutes until pale and thickened. Gently fold in the flour then the butter.
Spoon teaspoons of mixture onto a lined oven tray. Allow room for spreading. Bake at 180°C for 10 minutes until golden. Leave to cool.
Mix the Philadelphia light cream and vanilla essence.
Spread some jam onto the underside of half the cakes.
Top with a dollop of Philadelphia mixture and sandwich with another cake.
Dust with icing sugar and serve immediately.
And there you have it,......lovely.

Summary: I love it
